Major introduction

Electronic engineering, which studies phenomena caused by the motion of electrons and their application technologies, is a discipline that leads the development of advanced industrial technologies such as computers, semiconductors, information technology, home appliances, robotics, aerospace, optoelectronics, and electronic engineering convergence technology (electron-BT fusion and electron-NT fusion). It can be said to be an indispensable base technology in all fields of industrial economy and science and technology industry, with a wide range of applications to the extent that there is no place where it is not essential in human life. Moreover, the electronics industry is a technology-intensive, high-value-added industry; and in today’s hi-tech competition era, the technological level of the electronic engineering field is becoming an important factor in determining a country’s economic level and national competitiveness. In the electronic engineering field at Sunchon National University, we continuously develop various and differentiated practical and specialised programs in line with this trend and reflect them to education. By doing so, we are trying to cultivate young electronic engineers with basic knowledge and qualifications to understand and accept the trend of electronic technology that is becoming more advanced and fusion. In addition, based on industry-university cooperation with local industries, we are spurring the growth of creative talent with both theoretical and practical skills through the establishment of a customized practical education system that can develop and operate the specialised curriculum required in industrial sites. The electronic engineering-related programs provided by this major can be broadly divided into the basic theory of overall electronic engineering and the field of applied technology based on it. The field of applied technology is largely divided into advanced major tracks such as semiconductor, VLSI system and CAD, computer system and computer science, communication system, ultra-high frequency and antenna, system and control, signal and image processing, robotics, laser and optoelectronics, optical communication systems, and embedded systems, and we provide a curriculum to learn advanced electronic technology in a variety of ways.
