Pharmacotoxicology Lab

  • Pharmacotoxicology Laboratory is conducting research in various fields such as aging, neurodegenerative diseases, menopausal disorders, and the development of health functional foods.
  • Among the various mechanisms of action of neurodegenerative diseases, this course studies the relationship and mechanism of action between protein aggregation and oxidative stress, which are common phenomena in various diseases such as Alzheimer's, dementia, and diabetes.
  • Since neurodegenerative diseases are eventually related to age, research is related to menopausal disorders and aging. Hippocampal nerve regeneration is related to various fields such as menopausal disorder and depression, as well as simple neurotoxicity, and linking these fields with aging is another concern.
  • Pharmacogenomics, Toxicogenomic, Mitochondrial Epigenetics are also of interest.
  • We also focus on the role of the endocrine system on neurodegenerative diseases.
  • On the other hand, we also conduct the review, systematic review, and meta-analysis, Bayesian inference to gain a better understanding of neurodegeneration, diabetes, and non-communicable diseases.
  • In recent years, we combined data from Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) and results from experiments to reach the clinical studies about the role of nutrition on non-communicable diseases, mental health, and cognitive disorders.
