The Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Sunchon National University, established in 1989, has 5 Korean professors in charge of professional education in Chinese language and literature and culture and 2 Chinese exchange professors in charge of Chinese conversation education from the Beijing University of Science and Technology and Hebei Normal University. We have produced about 699 college graduates and 50 graduate school graduates so far. We are operating systematic learning courses and step-by-step practical courses on Chinese language and Chinese literature and culture to foster Chinese experts. In addition, we have established a Chinese teaching course to prepare a way to become a Chinese teacher after graduation. In addition to regular classes consisting of learning Chinese literature and culture in general and native language lectures by Chinese professors, we are cultivating professional knowledge through various activities on campus, such as tutoring between seniors and juniors, various small group activities, and exchange programs with Chinese exchange students. Moreover, every year, language and cultural trainees are selected and dispatched to the Beijing University of Science and Technology, Guangxi Normal University, Ningbo University, Hebei Normal University, Qinghai Normal University, National Taiwan University, and Taiwan Taidong University for a short term. A long-term exchange student system for one semester or one year is also in place.
