The entry into a super-ageing society and the great social change of the age of 100 years have raised expectations for the nation’s new growth engine industry through the convergence of IT, BT, and HT. So there is an urgent need to nurture professional talent with basic knowledge and practical skills in a multidisciplinary field in which artificial intelligence and robotics, the core of the 4th industrial revolution, are fused with biomedical and manufacturing engineering. Therefore, the faculty members who wanted to nurture creative talents who will lead the national and regional industrial growth gathered together, and the 『Intelligent Medical Technology Convergence Major』 was opened in Sunchon National University. In the transdisciplinary 『Intelligent Medical Technology Convergence Major』 with the keywords of artificial intelligence and future medical care, we aim to strengthen students’ convergence competencies and lay the foundation for nurturing talents with global competitiveness.
