With the status of Korean culture and Korean language increasing internationally, the demand for learning Korean abroad is continuously increasing. The Korean government is also actively implementing policies to respond to the demands of the Korean language and culture, such as large-scale expansion of King Sejong Institutes set up in foreign countries. In response, Sunchon National University opened the International Korean Language Education major in order to train Korean language teachers as high-quality Korean studies experts who can spread the Korean language and culture to the world.
