- 디지털 전환 시대 언론 실무 역량 강화 지원 …  기사 작성·영상 제작 등 최신 AI 실습 중심 교육

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) SW중심대학사업단은 지난 25일 교내 강의실에서 남도언론인협회 소속 기자 10여 명을 대상으로 ‘생성형 AI와 ChatGPT 활용 교육’을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

SW가치확산사업의 일환으로 진행된 이번 교육은 디지털 전환에 발맞춘 언론인의 실무 능력 강화와 미디어 산업의 혁신적인 변화에 대응하기 위해 기획되었다. 교육은 ▲ChatGPT를 활용한 기사 작성 및 편집 자동화 ▲AI 기반 영상 콘텐츠 제작과 편집 등 언론 현장에서 곧바로 활용할 수 있는 최신 기술 실습 위주로 구성되었다.

교육에 참여한 기자들은 “단순한 기술 소개에 그치지 않고, 기사 작성과 편집 작업을 효율화할 수 있는 구체적인 활용 사례를 배울 수 있었다.”라며, “생성형 AI 기술이 언론 작업의 혁신을 가져올 수 있다는 것을 체감했다”라고 긍정적인 반응을 보였다. 특히, AI를 활용하여 영상 콘텐츠를 쉽고 빠르게 형성하는 데 큰 관심을 보였다.

SW중심대학사업단 심춘보 단장은 “생성형 AI는 언론인의 창의성과 업무 효율을 동시에 끌어올릴 수 있는 혁신적인 도구”라며 “향후 언론인을 대상으로 한 실무 교육을 확대하여 지역 언론의 디지털 경쟁력을 높이고, 지역사회 전반에 걸쳐 디지털 전환을 촉진할 수 있도록 지속적인 노력을 기울이겠다”라고 밝혔다.

Sunchon National University Provides Generative AI and ChatGPT Training for Journalists

Hands-on program enhances digital skills and media innovation in the era of digital transformation

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced that its SW-Centered University Project Group held a training session on April 25 at an on-campus lecture hall, providing "Generative AI and ChatGPT Utilization Training" for more than 10 journalists from the Namdo Journalists Association.

This training, part of the university’s SW Value Expansion Project, was designed to strengthen journalists’ practical skills in line with digital transformation and to help the media industry adapt to innovative changes. The program focused on hands-on practice, including ▲automated article writing and editing using ChatGPT and ▲AI-based video content creation and editing techniques that can be immediately applied in the field.

Participating journalists responded positively, stating, “It was helpful to learn concrete application cases that go beyond simple technology introductions and actually improve the efficiency of article writing and editing,” and “We could clearly experience how generative AI can bring innovation to media work.” They also showed great interest in learning how to quickly and easily create video content using AI tools.

Shim Chun-bo, Director of the SW-Centered University Project Group, said, “Generative AI is an innovative tool that can enhance both the creativity and efficiency of journalists' work,” adding, “We will continue expanding practical training programs for journalists to boost the digital competitiveness of local media and promote digital transformation across the region.”

Sunchon National University’s SW-Centered University Project is supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), and collaborates with Jeollanam-do Province, Suncheon City, Gwangyang City, and Goheung County to promote AI and software technology expansion through various educational programs. Moving forward, the university plans to present a new model for digital innovation through continued cooperation with the local community.
