국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 중소벤처기업부가 지원하는 ‘2025년 지역거점형 특화역량 창업보육센터(BI) 육성 지원 사업’에 최종 선정되어, 22일 사업 협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 창업보육센터가 스타트업에게 입주 공간뿐 아니라 기술개발, 판로개척, 자금조달, 인력수급 등을 지원하는 차별화된 초기 보육 프로그램을 제공할 수 있도록 돕는 것을 목표로 한다. 창업보육센터(BI) 유형은 산학협력형, 산업특화형, 지역거점형으로 구분되며, 2년간 최대 6억 원의 지원을 받는다.

특히 국립순천대는 지역 내 창업 기반시설이 열악한 비수도권 창업보육센터들이 연합하는 ‘지역거점형’ 부문에 선정되어, 동신대·동강대·광주대와 컨소시엄을 구성했다. 이를 통해 기존 창업 유관기관 협력 기반에 더해, 네트워킹·투자유치 등 개별 센터만으로는 한계가 있던 프로그램을 공동으로 운영하며, 지역 창업기업의 성장 가능성을 높일 계획이다.

또한, 4개 대학이 보유한 인적·물적 자원을 통합하여 입주기업에게 맞춤형 보육 서비스를 제공하고, 기업 간 정보교류와 협업을 촉진해 실질적인 경쟁력 강화를 도모할 방침이다. 각 대학의 특화 역량을 연계한 공동 프로그램 운영을 통해 지역 창업 생태계 활성화와 지속 가능한 창업 인프라 구축에도 기여할 전망이다.

김순기 국립순천대 창업보육센터장은 “이번 사업 선정을 계기로 컨소시엄 내 협업 체계를 강화하고, 지역 창업기업이 한 단계 도약할 수 있는 실질적인 보육 환경을 조성하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 국립순천대 창업보육센터는 창업 교육, 멘토링, 투자 연계 등 창업기업 성장 단계에 맞춘 다양한 보육 프로그램을 운영해 왔으며, 이번 사업을 통해 그간 축적한 경험과 전문성을 바탕으로 더욱 체계적이고 확장된 지원 환경을 구축할 계획이다.

Building a Regional Startup Ecosystem through University Consortium

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced that it has been selected for the "2025 Regional Hub Startup Incubation Center (BI) Development Project" supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and signed the project agreement on April 22.

The project supports startup incubation centers to provide not only office space but also specialized services such as technology development, market expansion, funding support, and talent recruitment. Centers are classified into three types: industry-academia cooperation, industry specialization, and regional hub, with up to KRW 600 million available over two years.

SNU was selected in the "regional hub" category, forming a consortium with several other regional universities. Together, they will pool resources, operate joint programs such as networking and investment attraction, and offer customized incubation services to tenant startups. The initiative aims to enhance the competitiveness of regional startups and build a sustainable startup ecosystem.

Director Kim Soon-ki of the SNU Startup Incubation Center stated that the center will strengthen collaboration within the consortium and create an environment that supports substantial growth for local startups.
