- 지역대학 교양교육 관계자와 ‘공유형 교양교육과정 개발 협의회’ 개최

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 4월 25일(금), 교내에서 지역대학과 ‘공유형 교양교육과정 개발’을 위한 협의회를 열고, AI 시대를 대비한 새로운 교양교육 모델 구축에 나섰다.

이번 협의회는 지역대학 간 공동 교양과정 개발 및 운영을 통해 학생들에게 실질적인 경쟁력을 키우는 맞춤형 교양교육을 제공하고, 대학 간 상생 협력 기반을 마련하기 위해 개최됐다.

이날 회의에는 국립순천대를 비롯해 순천제일대, 한영대, 전남과학대, 광주보건대 등 총 5개 대학의 교양교육 관계자 14명이 참석했다. 참석자들은 각 대학의 교양교육 과정과 교과목 운영 현황을 공유하고, 공동 교양과목 개발과 연계 교육 콘텐츠 공유 플랫폼 구축 방안을 심도 있게 논의했다.

참석자들은 특히, 최근 교육계의 주요 화두로 떠오른 인공지능(AI) 관련 교과목 도입 필요성에 대해 큰 공감대를 형성했다. 단순한 이론 교육을 넘어, 학생들이 AI 기술을 직접 체험하고 활용할 수 있는 실습 중심 수업을 개발해야 한다는 데 뜻을 모았다. 이를 위해 각 대학은 AI 교과목 공동 개발을 위한 논의를 더욱 심화해 나가기로 했다.

국립순천대학교 손승남 교양교육원장은 “이번 협의회를 통해 지역대학 간 네트워크를 강화하고, 공동 교양과정 개발을 본격화하는 협력 체계를 구축하겠다.”라며, “특히 AI 등 미래 핵심 역량을 반영한 실습형 교양교육을 강화해 학생들의 실질적인 경쟁력을 높이겠다.”

한편, 국립순천대는 올해 상반기부터 시범적으로 공유형 교양교육과정을 운영하고 있으며, 앞으로 참여 대학과 교과목 범위를 단계적으로 확대해 나갈 계획이다.

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) held a meeting on April 25 to discuss the development of a shared liberal arts curriculum with five regional universities, aiming to build a new education model for the AI era. Officials from the participating universities shared their current liberal arts curricula and discussed joint course development and the creation of a shared educational content platform.

The participants also agreed on the need to develop practice-oriented AI courses that enable students to experience and apply AI technologies firsthand, moving beyond theoretical learning. Son Seung-nam, Dean of the Liberal Arts Education Center at Sunchon National University, stated, "We will strengthen the network among regional universities and promote the development of shared liberal arts programs, while enhancing practice-based education that reflects key future skills such as AI to boost students' real-world competitiveness."
