-  ‘세계여행’ 주제로 전통의상·음식·놀이 체험 … 순천시 거주 70가정 참여

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)가 순천시로부터 수탁 운영 중인 순천시가족센터(센터장 박애리)는 지난 4월 26일 토요일, 순천시에 거주하는 70가정을 대상으로 ‘세계문화페스티벌’을 개최했다.

이번 행사는 순천시가족센터 다문화가족 교류·소통공간 다가온(ON)(이하 ‘다가온’)에서 기획한 사업으로, 평소 접하기 어려운 세계 각국의 의상, 놀이, 전통춤 등을 체험하며 다문화·비다문화가족과 지역사회 간 소통의 장을 마련하고자 추진됐다.

‘세계여행’을 주제로 진행된 프로그램은 ▲전통춤 공연 ▲전통의상 체험 ▲전통놀이 ▲전통음식 ▲만들기 체험 ▲이벤트 게임(따꺼우, 팔각건) 등 다양한 나라별 미션으로 구성되었다. 다양한 활동을 통해 다문화가족과 비다문화가족, 지역사회가 실질적으로 소통하고 다문화에 대한 이해를 넓히는 계기를 마련했다.

또한, 모든 체험을 마친 가족에게는 세계 각국의 간식으로 구성된 ‘세계 과자 꾸러미’가 제공돼 또 하나의 색다른 문화 체험이 되었다.

참여자 소감으로는 ‘아이들이 여러 나라를 체험할 수 있어서 좋았다’, ‘작년에 이어 참여했는데 각 나라별로 돈이 추가되고 인사말이 적어져 있어 놀이활동 하면서 그 나라에 대해 더 자세하게 탐험할 수 있어 너무 좋았다’는 긍정적인 의견이 있었다.

한편, 박애리 센터장은 “앞으로도 순천시 다문화가족들이 비다문화가족 및 지역사회와 활발히 교류하고 안정적으로 정착할 수 있도록, 가족들 곁에 더 가까이 다가가는 다양한 문화 프로그램을 이어가겠다”고 전했다.

Sunchon City Family Center Hosts 'World Culture Festival' for Local Families

Hands-on experiences with global cultures promote communication between multicultural and non-multicultural families

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced that the Sunchon City Family Center, operated by the university under commission from Suncheon City, hosted the "World Culture Festival" on Saturday, April 26, with 70 local families participating.

The event, organized by the center’s multicultural exchange space "Dagaon(ON)," aimed to promote communication between multicultural and non-multicultural families and the local community by offering hands-on experiences with traditional clothing, games, and dances from around the world.

Under the theme of "World Travel," participants engaged in a variety of country-themed activities, including traditional dance performances, traditional costume experiences, games, food tasting, craft workshops, and event games. At the end of the activities, families received a "World Snack Package" featuring treats from various countries, providing an additional cultural experience.

Participants shared positive feedback, noting that the event was a great opportunity for children to explore different cultures. Some also appreciated the enhancements made this year, such as the addition of national currencies and greetings during the activities, allowing for a deeper cultural experience.

Meanwhile, Center Director Park Ae-ri stated, "We will continue to develop diverse cultural programs that bring multicultural families closer to the local community and help them settle more stably."
