- 아로마 향 체험으로 정서 안정·공동체 의식 강화

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 자유전공학부는 글로컬대학 프로그램의 일환으로, 학생들의 인성 함양과 대학 생활 적응을 지원하기 위해 지난 6일(토) 향기테라피를 활용한 인성 프로그램을 운영했다. 이 날 프로그램에는 자유전공학부 재학생 18명이 참여했다.

이번 프로그램은 김경선, 윤승희 전문강사가 진행했으며, 학생들이 자신의 현재 감정을 읽고 조절하는 데 도움을 주는 아로마 향 체험 활동으로 구성됐다. 특히 전공 선택 이전 단계에 있는 자유전공학부 학생들이 겪을 수 있는 심리적 불안과 소속감 저하를 완화하고, 자연스러운 소통과 공감을 이끌어내는 데 초점을 맞췄다.

자유전공학부는 학생들이 서로 편하게 대화를 나누고, 서로의 감정 상태를 공유하고 이해할 수 있는 시간이 필요하다는 점에 이번 프로그램을 기획했으며, 향기테라피를 매개로 한 활동이 심리적 안정감을 얻고 관계 형성과 공동체 의식 강화에 긍정적인 효과를 거둔 것으로 평가 받았다.

한편, 자유전공학부는 앞으로도 학생들의 건강한 대학생활 적응을 지원하기 위해, 2026학년도에도 흥미롭고 다양한 인성 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영할 계획이다.

Sunchon National University operates aroma therapy-based character development program for Undeclared Major students

- Strengthening emotional stability and sense of community through aroma experience

Sunchon National University (SCNU) operated an aroma therapy-based character development program for students in its Undeclared Major Division as part of the Glocal University initiative.

The program was held on Saturday, December 6, with the participation of 18 undergraduate students. It was designed to support character development and help students smoothly adjust to university life, particularly during the period before selecting a major.

Led by professional instructors Kyung-sun Kim and Seung-hee Yoon, the program focused on aroma therapy activities that help students recognize and regulate their emotions. The activities aimed to ease psychological anxiety and reduce feelings of isolation that Undeclared Major students may experience, while encouraging natural communication and mutual understanding.

The Undeclared Major Division planned the program based on the need for a supportive environment where students can comfortably share emotions and build relationships. The aroma therapy sessions were positively evaluated for promoting emotional stability and strengthening a sense of community among participants.

SCNU plans to continue offering a wide range of engaging character development programs in the 2026 academic year to support students’ healthy adjustment to university life.
