SCNU Holds Glocal Green Smart Farm Expo with Local Community

- Over 700 participants share achievements in smart agriculture education, industry collaboration, and regional innovation

Sunchon National University successfully concluded the “Glocal Green Smart Farm Expo with the Local Community,” held on December 9 at the university’s 70th Anniversary Hall. The event brought together approximately 700 participants, including local residents, students, companies, and local government representatives, to share the outcomes of the Green Smart Farm Goheung Campus and strengthen collaboration among industry, academia, research institutions, and the community.

The expo showcased this year’s achievements in building and operating the Green Smart Farm Goheung Campus, highlighting education, research, industry collaboration, and regional engagement. Prior to the main event, hackathon and data analysis competitions were held, where students and local youth presented ideas related to smart farm automation, data-driven decision-making, and environmental control systems. Outstanding projects were selected through evaluation and recognized for their practical creativity and problem-solving capabilities.

During the expo, performance posters from 25 programs were displayed, covering practice-oriented courses, freshman major exploration programs, field-based classes, green smart agriculture education, and local facilitator training initiatives. The exhibition was designed to be easily accessible to the general public. A special corner sharing local specialty products from Goheung further emphasized mutual growth and regional economic cooperation.

The event demonstrated the tangible impact of a green smart education model built through collaboration between the university and the local community. SCNU plans to continue expanding industry-academia-research-community partnerships, strengthening hands-on talent development, and promoting regional agricultural innovation to lead smart agriculture-based regional transformation.
