-학생중심 실질적 개선안 제시로 국립순천대의 혁신 플랫폼으로 자리매김

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 지난 5일, 학내 박물관 시청각실에서 ‘2025 SCNU 교육컨설팅단 결과보고회’를 개최하고, 대학 교육의 질적 향상을 위한 다양한 개선 방안을 발표했다고 밝혔다.

SCNU 교육과정 컨설팅단은 수요자 중심의 학부 교육의 개선과 교육의 질적 제고를 위해 2015년 출범한 이후 매년 교양·전공·비교과 교육과정 및 학사제도, 시설 개선에 대한 학생 의견을 수렴하여 이를 대학 운영에 적극 반영해 왔다. 2019년부터는 교직원, 2024년부터는 산업체 관계자까지 참여 범위를 확대하여 실제 교육 수요를 반영한 실질적 개선 아이디어를 제시하는 국립순천대의 혁신 플랫폼으로 자리매김하고 있다.

이번 결과보고회에는 SCNU 교육컨설팅단 소속 학생, 교수, 교직원 및 산업체 관계자 등이 참석하였으며, △교양 △전공 △비교과 △학사제도 등 4개 분야로 팀의 활동 결과를 바탕으로 각 분야의 개선 방안을 제시하며, 대학 운영을 위한 실질적인 변화를 제안하였다.

컨설팅단이 제시한 주요 제안 사항으로는 참여형 예체능 교양 교과목 확대, 현장실습 홈페이지 개선, 2+1+1 교육체계 안내 강화, 비교과프로그램 이용 시스템 개선, 비교과 마일리지 제도 신설, 수강 철회 제도 신설, 학사제도 안내문 정비 등 총 20개의 개선 사항이 포함되었으며 대학은 이를 검토 후 2026년부터 순차적으로 반영할 계획이다.

국립순천대학교는 그간 컨설팅단의 제안을 바탕으로 학습경험 인정제, 진로?취업 비교과프로그램 확대 운영, 연구장비 실험실습 프로그램 운영, 통학버스 증편 등 다양하고 실질적인 교육혁신을 이뤄낸 바 있다.

한편, 김성은 교육융합센터장은 “학생, 교수, 직원 및 산업체 관계자 등 다양한 구성원이 함께하는 교육컨설팅단의 활동으로 교육혁신의 폭을 넓힐 수 있었다”며, “이번 결과보고회가 단순히 한 해의 활동을 마무리하는 것이 아닌 우리 대학의 미래 교육을 향한 소중한 씨앗이 되기를 바란다”고 전했다.

SCNU Concludes the 2025 Academic Year SCNU Curriculum Consulting Group Results Report

- Student-centered proposals position SCNU as a practical innovation platform for educational improvement

Sunchon National University (SCNU) announced that it held the “2025 SCNU Curriculum Consulting Group Results Report” on December 5 at the university museum’s audiovisual hall, presenting a range of improvement measures aimed at enhancing the quality of university education.

The SCNU Curriculum Consulting Group was launched in 2015 to improve undergraduate education through a learner-centered approach. Each year, it has gathered student feedback on general education, major courses, extracurricular programs, academic systems, and facilities, actively reflecting these opinions in university operations. Since 2019, faculty and staff have joined the group, and since 2024, industry representatives have also participated, establishing the consulting group as an innovation platform that proposes practical improvements based on real educational demand.

The results report was attended by students, faculty members, staff, and industry representatives involved in the consulting group. Based on team activities in four areas?general education, major programs, extracurricular activities, and academic systems?the participants presented concrete improvement plans and suggested practical changes for university management.

Key proposals included expanding participatory arts and physical education courses, improving the internship website, strengthening guidance on the 2+1+1 education system, enhancing systems for using extracurricular programs, introducing an extracurricular mileage system, establishing a course withdrawal policy, and reorganizing academic system guidelines. A total of 20 improvement items were proposed, and the university plans to review them and implement them gradually starting in 2026.

SCNU has already achieved meaningful educational innovations based on previous consulting group recommendations, such as introducing a learning experience recognition system, expanding career and employment-related extracurricular programs, operating research equipment-based laboratory courses, and increasing campus shuttle bus services.

Meanwhile, Kim Sung-eun, Director of the Center for Educational Convergence, said, “The activities of the curriculum consulting group, which brings together students, faculty, staff, and industry representatives, have broadened the scope of educational innovation. I hope this results report will serve not merely as the conclusion of a year’s work, but as a valuable seed for the future of education at our university.”
