- 산학협력 기반 기술이전 수익금 환원으로 지속가능한 산학협력 모델 제시 -

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 동물자원과학과 양철주 교수 연구팀과 ㈜아이온텍 안강운 대표이사가 대학발전기금 1천만 원을 기탁했다고 22일 밝혔다. 이번 기부는 산학협력 기반의 기술이전 수익금을 대학에 환원한 사례로, 연구성과의 사회적 환류와 지속 가능한 산학협력 모델 구축에 기여했다는 점에서 의미가 크다.

양 교수 연구팀과 ㈜아이온텍은 2021년 4월, 다부처가 주관하는‘스마트팜 다부처패키지 혁신기술개발사업’의 각 연구과제 주관 연구기관으로 선정되며 협력을 시작했다.

이후 ▲2022년 1월 공동기술개발 및 산학협력 업무협약(MOU) 체결, ▲2023년 2월 공동기술개발 결과에 대한 기술이전 약정, ▲2024년에는 ‘포유 모돈 자동급이 장치’ 관련 기술이전 계약을 맺는 등 지속적으로 협력의 성과를 쌓아왔다. 이러한 성과를 기반으로 2025년 4월에도 같은 정부사업에 추가 선정되며, 양측은 공동연구의 외연을 더욱 확장하고 있다.

특히, 2024년도에 체결된 기술이전 계약은 계약금 1천만 원과 함께, 향후 5년간 해당 제품 매출의 3%를 기술이전료로 지급받는 조건으로 성사되어 주목을 받았다. 이번 발전기금은 해당 계약금 전액을 대학에 기탁한 것으로, 기술개발부터 이전, 기부에 이르기까지의 선순환 구조를 실현한 대표 사례로 평가된다.

22일 총장실에서 진행된 기탁식에는 이병운 총장, 문승태 대외협력부총장, 동물자원과학과 양철주 교수 연구팀(양철주 교수, 문홍석 학술연구교수, 김영화 박사, 박해랑 연구원), ㈜아이온텍 안강운 대표이사가 함께했다.

양철주 교수는 “산학협력의 성과가 다시 대학과 지역사회에 돌아가는 선순환 구조가 정착되길 바란다”며,“앞으로도 현장중심의 연구와 기술개발을 통해 지속 가능한 협력 모델을 만들어 가겠다”고 밝혔다. ㈜아이온텍 안강운 대표이사는 “스마트축산 기술을 공동 개발하며 얻은 성과를 대학과 공유할 수 있어 의미가 크다”고 전했다.

이에 이병운 총장은“기술을 통한 사회 환원이라는 산학협력의 모범을 보여주신 양철주 교수님과 안강운 대표님께 깊이 감사드린다”며, “이번 계기로 산학협력 체계를 더욱 강화해 지역과 함께 성장하는 연구중심대학으로의 도약을 이어가겠다”고 화답했다.

SCNU Professor Yang Cheol-joo’s Research Team and Iontech CEO Ahn Kang-woon Donate KRW 10 Million to University Development Fund

- Demonstrating a sustainable industry?academia cooperation model through the reinvestment of technology transfer revenues

Sunchon National University (SCNU, President Lee Byung-woon) announced on the 22nd that Professor Yang Cheol-joo’s research team from the Department of Animal Science, together with Mr. Ahn Kang-woon, CEO of Iontech Co., Ltd., donated KRW 10 million to the university’s development fund. This donation, made from revenues generated through technology transfer, represents a significant case of reinvesting the outcomes of industry?academia collaboration back into the university. It highlights the social return of research achievements and contributes to building a sustainable cooperation model.

The partnership between Professor Yang’s team and Iontech began in April 2021, when both were selected as principal research institutions for the government-led Smart Farm Multi-Ministry Package Innovative Technology Development Project. Since then, they have steadily expanded their collaboration: signing an MOU for joint research and cooperation in January 2022, concluding a technology transfer agreement in February 2023, and entering into a technology transfer contract in 2024 for an “Automatic Feeding Device for Lactating Sows.” Building on these achievements, the two parties were once again selected for additional government projects in April 2025, further broadening their research collaboration.

The 2024 technology transfer agreement drew particular attention as it included not only a contract fee of KRW 10 million but also royalties equivalent to 3% of the product’s sales for the next five years. The entire contract fee from this agreement was donated to SCNU, making it a representative case of a virtuous cycle?from research and development to technology transfer and reinvestment through donation.

The donation ceremony, held on the 22nd at the university president’s office, was attended by President Lee Byung-woon; Vice President for External Cooperation, Moon Seung-tae; Professor Yang Cheol-joo and his research team (Professor Moon Hong-seok, Research Professor; Dr. Kim Young-hwa; and Researcher Park Hae-rang); and Iontech CEO Ahn Kang-woon.

Professor Yang stated, “I hope this donation sets a precedent for establishing a virtuous cycle where the outcomes of industry?academia collaboration are reinvested into the university and the local community. We will continue to pursue field-oriented research and technology development to create sustainable cooperation models.”

CEO Ahn Kang-woon added, “It is highly meaningful to share the results of developing smart livestock technologies with the university, which has been our partner throughout this journey.”

President Lee expressed his gratitude, remarking, “I deeply appreciate Professor Yang and CEO Ahn for exemplifying how technology can be reinvested into society. This donation will serve as a foundation for further strengthening our industry?academia cooperation and advancing SCNU as a research-centered university that grows together with the region.”
