- 대학생 명예주민자치위원 23명 위촉…순천시 주민자치 현장 참여

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 위험사회 컨소시엄 인문사회융합인재양성사업단(이하 위험사회 HUSS 사업단)은 지난 17일(수) 국립순천대 사회과학관(E7) 524호에서 ‘대학생 명예주민자치위원 위촉식’을 개최했다.

이번 위촉식은 순천시 자치행정과와 순천시마을공동체지원센터의 협력을 통해 추진된 지자체 협력 프로그램의 일환으로, 지역 현안에 대한 대학생들의 관심을 높이고 청년 세대의 주민자치 참여 기반을 확대하고자 마련되었다.

이날 총 23명의 국립순천대 학생들이 ‘대학생 명예주민자치위원’으로 위촉되어, 오는 12월까지 읍면동 주민자치회와 함께 ▲마을 조사 ▲영상 및 매거진 제작 ▲순천시 자치박람회 참여 등 다양한 주민자치 활동에 참여할 예정이다.

행사에서는 위촉식과 함께 오리엔테이션, 팀 구성 및 지역 배정이 순차적으로 진행되었다. 위촉된 학생들은 명예주민자치위원으로서의 역할과 활동 방향에 대한 설명을 듣고, 팀별로 지역 현안을 중심으로 한 활동 계획 수립에 돌입했다.

명예주민자치위원으로 위촉된 행정학과 김진명 학생은 “명예주민자치위원으로서 지역사회에 직접 참여하게 되어 뜻깊다”며, “주민자치 활동을 통해 지역과 소통하고 협력하는 역량을 키워가고 싶다”고 소감을 전했다.

김선명 위험사회 HUSS 사업단장은 “이번 프로그램은 청년들이 주민자치에 직접 참여함으로써 지역사회와 대학의 협력 모델을 실천하는 계기가 되었다”며, “앞으로도 지역과 함께 성장하는 인재를 양성해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 위험사회 HUSS 사업단은 이번 프로그램을 통해 대학과 지역사회 간의 실질적 협력 사례를 확산하고, 지역에 뿌리내린 인재를 양성하는 데 기여하고자 한다. 더불어 청년들이 주민자치 현장에서 직접 실천 경험을 쌓고, 창의적 아이디어를 바탕으로 지역사회의 변화를 이끌어갈 수 있도록 적극 지원할 방침이다.

SCNU HUSS for Risk Society Project Appoints 23 Students as Honorary Resident Autonomy Committee Members

- 23 SCNU students appointed as honorary members to participate in Suncheon’s resident autonomy initiatives

Sunchon National University (SCNU, President Lee Byung-woon) announced that the Humanities Utmost Sharing System (HUSS) for Risk Society Project held an appointment ceremony for “Honorary Resident Autonomy Committee Members” on September 17 at Room 524 of the Social Science Building (E7).

The ceremony was organized in cooperation with Suncheon City’s Department of Autonomous Administration and the Suncheon Community Support Center. The program aims to raise university students’ awareness of local issues and expand youth participation in resident autonomy.

A total of 23 SCNU students were appointed as honorary committee members and will participate in various resident autonomy activities through December. Their activities will include conducting community research, producing videos and magazines, and taking part in the Suncheon Resident Autonomy Fair alongside local township and neighborhood committees.

The event featured not only the appointment ceremony but also an orientation, team formation, and regional assignments. The appointed students were briefed on their roles and responsibilities as honorary members and began developing team-based action plans focused on local issues.

Jin-myung Kim, a student from the Department of Public Administration who was appointed as an honorary member, commented, “It is meaningful to directly participate in the local community as an honorary resident autonomy committee member. I hope to strengthen my capacity to communicate and collaborate with the community through this experience.”

Professor Sun-myung Kim, Director of the HUSS for Risk Society Project, stated, “This program serves as a practical model of cooperation between the university and the local community by enabling young people to directly participate in resident autonomy. Moving forward, we will continue to nurture talent that grows together with the region.”

Through this initiative, the HUSS for Risk Society Project seeks to expand practical examples of university?community cooperation and foster locally rooted talent. The project also aims to provide young people with hands-on experience in resident autonomy and empower them to drive community change with creative ideas.
