- 국가무형유산 전승공예품전, 전통 나무 공예의 미학 담은 공예품과 기술 소개

- ‘그림톡’ 지역 작가 9인 첫 단체전 … 일상과 풍경 담은 유화 30여 점 선보여

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 박물관은 9월 1일부터 기획전 「나무의 숨결 장인의 손 끝에 깃들다: 무형유산 전승공예품전」(이하 무형유산전)과 「그림톡, 첫 번째 이야기」(이하 그림톡전)을 동시 개막했다고 밝혔다.

두 전시는 국립대학육성사업 ‘박물관·단체·예술인 공동전시’의 일환으로, 지역 문화기관·예술인과 협력해 지역 문화예술 발전과 소통을 도모하고자 마련됐다.

무형유산전에서는 국가유산청이 보유한 국가무형유산 장인들의 전승공예품 100여 점이 전시된다. 지난해 열린‘무형문화재 전승공예품: 복식과 장식품을 중심으로’에 이은 이번 2차 전시에서는 나무를 소재로 한 다양한 공예품과 전통 기술을 선보인다.

전통 악기를 제작했던 악기장, 목가구 및 소품을 만들었던 소목장, 한국 좌식문화를 엿볼 수 있는 소반장처럼 직접적으로 나무를 가공하는 기술과 더불어 두석장과 칠장, 나전장과 같이 목제 제품의 내구성이나 심미성을 높이기 위한 가공 기술들도 두루 소개된다. 일부 작품은 전통 형식을 그대로 재현했고, 일부는 현대적 감각을 더해 공예의 확장 가능성을 보여준다.

또 다른 전시인 ‘그림톡전’은 순천을 기반으로 활동하는 작가단체 ‘그림톡’ 의 첫 단체전이다. 작가 9인(권은서·박순현·박정숙·이유진·장화진·정미숙·한은하·황은영·장영주)이 각자의 시선으로 일상과 풍경을 담아낸 유화 30여 점을 선보이며, 지역 예술 현장의 생동감을 전달한다.

그림톡전은 9월 12일까지 박물관 2층 기획전시실에서, 무형유산전은 오는 12월 26일까지 박물관 2층 강운기증실에서 만나볼 수 있다. 자세한 관람 정보는 순천대학교박물관(061-750-5042)에서 확인할 수 있다.

SCNU Museum Opens Two Special Exhibitions on Traditional Crafts and Local Artists

National Intangible Cultural Heritage Craft Exhibition showcases the artistry of traditional woodcraft

“Grimtok” group holds its first collective exhibition with 30 oil paintings capturing everyday life

The Sunchon National University (SCNU) Museum announced the simultaneous opening of two special exhibitions on September 1: “The Breath of Wood in the Hands of Masters: National Intangible Heritage Crafts” and “Grimtok: First Story.”

Organized as part of SCNU’s National University Development Project Joint Exhibitions with Museums, Organizations, and Artists, the two shows aim to foster collaboration with regional cultural institutions and artists while promoting community engagement in the arts.

The Intangible Heritage Exhibition features more than 100 craftworks created by masters designated by the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea. Following last year’s showcase on traditional clothing and ornaments, this second installment focuses on wood-based crafts and techniques. It highlights the skills of artisans such as instrument makers, furniture and household item craftsmen, and traditional tray makers, alongside techniques that enhance durability and aesthetics, including metal fittings, lacquer, and mother-of-pearl inlay. Some works faithfully reproduce traditional forms, while others blend modern design to explore new possibilities.

The Grimtok Exhibition marks the first group show of the local artist collective “Grimtok,” consisting of nine painters (Kwon Eun-seo, Park Soon-hyun, Park Jung-sook, Lee Yoo-jin, Jang Hwa-jin, Jung Mi-sook, Han Eun-ha, Hwang Eun-young, and Jang Young-joo). The exhibition presents more than 30 oil paintings that capture everyday life and local landscapes, bringing the vibrancy of Suncheon’s art scene into the museum.

The Grimtok Exhibition runs until September 12 in the museum’s second-floor special exhibition hall, while the Intangible Heritage Exhibition continues until December 26 in the Kang Woon Donation Hall. For visitor information, please contact the SCNU Museum at +82-61-750-5042.
