- 학문·교육·지역사회에 헌신하며 영예로운 퇴임 맞은 교원 9명에게 송공패 및 정부포상 전수

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 27일 대학 본부 대회의실에서 학문연구와 후학양성, 지역사회 발전에 헌신해 온 9명의 교원을 기리는 ‘퇴직교원 기념행사’를 개최하였다고 밝혔다.

올해 8월 31자 정년퇴임하는 교원은 ▲박형달 교수(경제학전공) ▲최인선 교수(사학전공) ▲노희천 교수(철학전공) ▲안광진 교수(문예창작학전공) ▲김선화 교수(패션디자인학전공) ▲박권필 교수(화학공학전공) ▲강대구 교수(농업교육과) ▲권순걸 교수(수학교육과) ▲박희숙 부교수(수학교육과) 등 총 9명이다.

퇴임 교원들은 “인생의 가장 긴 시간을 보낸 순천대에서 학생·동료 교수·직원들로부터 받은 사랑과 응원에 깊이 감사드린다”라며, “어려움 속에서도 도전을 멈추지 않았던 순천대가 앞으로도 더욱 발전하기를 바란다”라는 소회를 전했다.

남기창 교학부총장은 축사에서 “그동안 교육과 연구에 헌신하시고, 대학과 지역사회의 발전을 위해 열정을 다해주신 교수님들께 깊은 감사와 존경의 인사를 드린다.”라며, “삶의 새로운 여정에 더 큰 행복과 보람이 가득하길 바란다”라고 깊은 감사를 표했다.

한편, 국립순천대학교는 퇴임교원들에게 전 교직원의 마음을 담은 송공패를 전달했으며, 국민교육 발전에 이바지한 공로를 인정받은 교원에게는 녹조근정훈장·근정포장, 국무총리표창 등 정부포상을 전수하였다.

SCNU Holds Retirement Ceremony Honoring Nine Distinguished Faculty Members

- Presented plaques of appreciation and government awards for lifelong dedication to academia, education, and community service

Sunchon National University (SCNU, President Lee Byung-woon) held a Retirement Ceremony for Faculty Members on August 27 in the university’s Main Administration Building to honor nine professors retiring on August 31, 2025.

The retiring faculty members are: Professor Hyungdal Park (Economics), Professor Inseon Choi (History), Professor Heecheon Noh (Philosophy), Professor Kwangjin Ahn (Creative Writing), Professor Sunhwa Kim (Fashion Design), Professor Kwonpil Park (Chemical Engineering), Professor Daegu Kang (Agricultural Education), Professor Soongeol Kwon (Mathematics Education), and Associate Professor Heesook Park (Mathematics Education).

In their farewell remarks, the retirees expressed deep gratitude, stating: “We are truly thankful for the love and support received from students, colleagues, and staff during our years at SCNU. We hope the university will continue to grow and thrive, overcoming challenges as it always has.”

During the ceremony, Vice President for Academic Affairs Nam Ki-chang delivered a congratulatory address: “We extend our deepest gratitude and respect to the professors who have devoted themselves to education, research, and the development of the university and community. May this new chapter of your lives be filled with happiness and fulfillment.”

As part of the event, SCNU presented plaques of appreciation on behalf of all faculty and staff. In addition, faculty members recognized for their contributions to national education received government honors, including the Order of Service Merit, Presidential and Prime Minister’s Citations.
