- 박사 28명·석사 109명·학사 201명 등 총 338명에게 학위 수여

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)가 25일 학내 70주년기념관 우석홀에서 ‘2024학년도 후기 학위수여식’을 개최했다. 올해 후기 학위수여 인원은 △박사 28명 △석사 109명△ 학사 201명 등 총 338명이다.

학위수여식은 이병운 총장의 학위수여식사(式辭)를 시작으로 △상장수여(성적우수상, 공로상, 연구우수상, 총동창회장상) △학사 졸업증서 수여 △석·박사 학위기 수여 △학위수여자(학사/석사/박사) 대표 연설 순으로 진행되었으며, 행사 전 과정은 국립순천대방송국(SUB) 유튜브 채널에서 생중계되었다.

이날 행사장에는 대표 학위수여자와 가족들을 비롯하여 이병운 총장과 남기창 교학부총장, 문승태 대외협력부총장, 학무위원과 교직원 등이 참석하여 후기 졸업생의 새로운 출발을 축하하며 아낌없는 박수를 보냈다.

또한, 이날 학위수여식에서는 우수 연구 역량을 보여준 석사·박사 대학원생에게 ‘연구우수상’과 장학금을 수여하며 격려하기도 했다.

국립순천대 이병운 총장은 “스스로 길을 만들어 가는 그 여정이야말로 가장 빛나는 것”이라며, “실수와 좌절 또한 배움의 과정이며, 성장의 소중한 증거”라고 말하며 졸업생의 앞날을 힘껏 격려했다.

이어, 석사학위 졸업생 대표로 인사말을 전한 진호림(약학과 졸업) 졸업생은 “대학원에서의 연구가 매 순간 도전의 연속이었다”라는 소회를 남기며, “국립순천대학교에서 쌓은 지식과 경험을 바탕으로, 연구자로서 더 성장하고 사회에 기여할 수 있는 길을 걷고 싶다”라고 포부를 밝혔다.

한편, 국립순천대학교는 1982년 순천대학으로 개편을 인가받은 이래 현재까지 박사 735명, 석사 6,551명, 학사 52,272명 등 총 59,558명의 졸업생을 배출하였다.

SCNU Holds 2024 Fall Semester Commencement Ceremony

- Degrees awarded to 338 graduates: 28 doctorates, 109 master’s, 201 bachelor’s

Sunchon National University (SCNU, President Lee Byung-woon) held its 2024 Fall Semester Commencement Ceremony on August 25 at Wooseok Hall, commemorating the graduation of 338 students, including 28 doctorates, 109 master’s, and 201 bachelor’s.

The ceremony included the conferment of degrees, the presentation of awards for academic excellence and research achievements, and speeches by university representatives. The entire event was livestreamed via the SCNU Broadcasting Station’s YouTube channel, enabling a wider community to celebrate the graduates’ accomplishments.

In his address, President Lee emphasized that “the journey of making a better version of yourself each day is the brightest path of all. Mistakes and setbacks are also part of learning ? valuable evidence of growth.”

Graduate representative Jin Holim (MSc in Pharmacy), who received both a degree and a Research Excellence Award, shared her reflections: “Every step of my research was a challenge, but it deepened my resolve. With the knowledge and experience gained at SCNU, I aim to continue growing as a researcher and contribute to society.”

Since its accreditation as Sunchon College in 1982, SCNU has produced more than 59,558 graduates to date, including 735 doctorates, 6,551 master’s, and 52,272 bachelor’s.
