- 스마트원예·스마트축산 과정 개강 … 지역 농업인의 디지털 역량 강화와 지속가능한 농업 발전 이끈다

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 8월 13일(수), 고흥 스마트팜혁신밸리 2층 대강당에서「글로컬 그린스마트 농업대학」 평생교육 입학식을 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

입학식에는 이병운 순천대학교 총장을 비롯해 공영민 고흥군수, 류제동 고흥군의회 의장 및 군의원, 교육생과 지역 주민 등 100여 명이 참여해 스마트농업 교육의 새로운 태동을 축하했다.

국립순천대학교 주관, 고흥군 협력으로 마련된 이번 교육과정은 지역 농업인의 디지털 농업 역량을 강화하고 지속가능한 농업 발전에 필요한 인력을 양성하고자 무료로 진행된다. 양 기관은 공동명의로 교육이수 수료증도 발급해 참가자들의 교육을 독려할 예정이다.

‘글로컬 그린스마트 농업대학 평생교육과정’은 스마트원예(딸기), 스마트축산(한우) 2개 과정으로 구분되어 있으며, 학기제 프로그램으로 운영된다. 교육생들은 이론 교육과 현장실습을 병행하여, 스마트팜 환경제어·ICT 기반 농장관리 등 최신 농업기술을 습득하고 이를 지역 농업 현장에 적용할 수 있는 실무 역량을 배양하게 된다.

이를 통해 지역 농업인들은 변화하는 농업환경에 능동적으로 대응할 수 있는 지식과 기술을 확보하게 되며, 대학과 지자체는 지역 맞춤형 평생교육의 모범 사례를 만들어 나갈 것으로 기대된다.

국립순천대학교 이병운 총장은 “대학이 지역과 협력하여 변화하는 농업환경에 능동적으로 대응할 인재를 양성하는 것은 매우 중요한 사명”이라며 “글로컬 그린스마트 농업대학이 지역 농업 발전과 경쟁력 강화에 기여하길 기대한다”고 말했다.

한편, 국립순천대학교는 올해 1학기 고흥캠퍼스에서 스마트농업 관련 교과목을 처음 개설하였다. 1학기에는 31명의 재학생이 수강했으며, 2학기에는 3개 교과목, 약 80명 규모로 확대 운영할 계획이다. 이를 통해 지역과 대학 간 교육 연계와 상생 모델을 더욱 강화할 방침이다.

SCNU and Goheung County Hold Entrance Ceremony for “Glocal Green Smart Agriculture University” Lifelong Education Program

- Launch of Smart Horticulture and Smart Livestock Courses to Strengthen Digital Competence of Local Farmers and Promote Sustainable Agriculture

Sunchon National University (SCNU, President Lee Byung-woon) announced that it successfully held the entrance ceremony for the “Glocal Green Smart Agriculture University” Lifelong Education Program on August 13 at the auditorium of the Goheung Smart Farm Innovation Valley.

The ceremony was attended by SCNU President Lee Byung-woon, Goheung County Mayor Gong Yeong-min, Goheung County Council Chairman Ryu Je-dong and council members, along with about 100 students and local residents, celebrating the launch of a new era in smart agriculture education.

Organized by SCNU in collaboration with Goheung County, the program is offered free of charge to strengthen the digital farming capacity of local farmers and foster the human resources needed for sustainable agricultural development. Both institutions will issue joint certificates of completion to encourage active participation.

The lifelong education program is divided into two tracks?Smart Horticulture (Strawberries) and Smart Livestock (Hanwoo Cattle)?and is run on a semester basis. Students will acquire up-to-date agricultural knowledge and practical skills through a combination of theoretical classes and hands-on training, including smart farm environment control and ICT-based farm management, and apply them directly to local farming sites.

Through this initiative, farmers will gain the knowledge and skills needed to adapt to rapidly changing agricultural environments, while the university and local government are expected to set a best-practice model for regionally tailored lifelong education.

President Lee Byung-woon emphasized, “It is a crucial mission for the university to collaborate with local communities in nurturing talent that can proactively respond to the evolving agricultural landscape. I hope the Glocal Green Smart Agriculture University will contribute greatly to regional agricultural development and competitiveness.”

Meanwhile, SCNU opened its first smart agriculture courses at the Goheung Campus in the first semester of this year, with 31 students enrolled. In the upcoming semester, the program will expand to three courses with about 80 students, further strengthening the model of educational cooperation and co-prosperity between the university and the local community
