국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 8월 12일 대학본부 4층 중회의실에서 한국식품연구원(원장 백현동), 전라남도 농업기술원(원장 김행란)과 각각 그린바이오 분야 인력양성을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.

이번 협약은 기관별 특성과 강점을 살려, 국립순천대학교가 한국식품연구원·전라남도 농업기술원과 맞춤형 협력 체계를 구축하는 것이 특징이다.

세 기관은 지역과 국가의 미래 산업을 선도할 그린바이오 전문인력 양성을 목표로 △교육·연구 프로그램 공동 개발 △전문 인력 교류 및 현장실습 지원 △산학연 공동 연구 및 기술 개발 △인재 발굴 및 취업 연계 등 다양한 분야에서 협력할 계획이다.

한국식품연구원은 국가 식품산업 발전을 위해 설립된 정부출연연구기관으로, 식품 안전과 기능성, 가공기술 연구 등을 통해 국민 건강과 삶의 질 향상에 기여하고 있다. 전라남도 농업기술원은 첨단 농업기술 개발과 보급, 현장 맞춤형 교육을 통해 전남 농업 경쟁력 강화와 지속가능한 농업 발전을 이끌고 있다.

이병운 총장은 “그린바이오 산업은 미래 식량안보와 환경문제를 동시에 해결할 핵심 분야”라며, “이번 협약이 지역과 국가 발전을 선도할 융합형 인재를 키우는 계기가 될 것”이라고 말했다.

이번 협약을 통해 국립순천대학교는 그린바이오 분야 교육 역량을 강화하고, 지역 산업체·연구기관과의 긴밀한 협력을 통해 미래산업 수요에 부응하는 실무형 인재 양성에 박차를 가할 방침이다.

SCNU Signs MOUs with KFRI and JARES to Nurture Green Bio Talent

Sunchon National University (SCNU, President Lee Byung-woon) signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) on August 12 with the Korea Food Research Institute (President Baek Hyun-dong) and the Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services (Director Kim Haeng-ran) to foster talent in the green bio sector.

Under the agreements, the three institutions will cooperate on developing joint education and research programs, expert exchanges and field training, collaborative R&D and technology development, as well as talent discovery and employment support.

The Korea Food Research Institute is a government-funded institute advancing food safety, functionality, and processing technologies, while the Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services leads the development and dissemination of cutting-edge agricultural technologies to strengthen regional competitiveness.

President Lee Byung-woon said, “The green bio industry is central to addressing food security and environmental challenges. These agreements mark an important step toward cultivating convergent talent who will drive both regional and national growth.”

SCNU plans to strengthen its educational capacity in the green bio field and, through close collaboration with local industries and research institutions, accelerate the training of practice-oriented professionals tailored to future industry demands.
