- 지역사회 연계·AI 활용 교육과정 운영, 명사 특강으로 강사 역량 강화 

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 부설 평생교육원은 지난 7월 14일부터 8월 7일까지 2025학년도 ‘평생교육 강사 양성 과정’을 운영해 32명의 수료생을 배출했다고 밝혔다. 이번 과정에는 신규로 강사 등록을 희망하는 지역민뿐 아니라, 현재 활동 중인 강사도 함께 참여해 전문성을 한층 높였다.

교육은 매회 2시간씩 평생교육원 강의실에서 총 7회 진행됐으며, ▲성인 학습자 이해 ▲AI 기반 디지털 도구 활용 ▲트렌디한 강의자료 시각화 ▲퍼스널 브랜딩과 교수법 등을 다뤘다. 특히 챗GPT, 클로바X 등 생성형 AI 도구를 활용한 강의가 큰 호응을 얻었다.

명사 초청 특강은 지역민에게도 개방해 평생학습 문화 확산에 기여했다. 이낙준 작가(필명 한산이가)는 ‘학습자 중심 동기부여 전략’을, 한석준 전 KBS 아나운서는 ‘품격 있는 강사의 스피치’를 주제로 강연에 나섰다. 수강생들은 “실무와 사례 중심 교육을 통해 평생학습 강사로서 필요한 역량을 익히고 자신감을 얻었다”고 소감을 전했다.

국립순천대 평생교육원은 매년 상·하반기 두 차례 강사를 모집하고 있다. 강사 양성 과정 수료생에는 모집 시 가산점이 부여되며, 원데이클래스 운영 기회 등 실전 강의 경험을 제공해 교육자로 입문하고자 하는 지역민에게 실질적인 도움이 되고 있다.

특히 이번에 배출된 강사들은 대학이 없는 전남 지역에서도 강의를 맡을 예정으로, 대학 부재 지역 성인학습자의 교육 기회를 확대하고 평생학습 기반을 넓히는 데 중요한 역할을 하게 될 전망이다.

박석곤 평생교육원장은 “이번 강사 양성 교육은 전남 지역의 평생교육 사각지대를 해소하고, 지역 평생교육 허브로서 대학의 역할을 강화하려는 노력의 일환”이라며, “앞으로도 지역사회와 연계한 맞춤형 교육으로 더 많은 지역민이 교육의 혜택을 누릴 수 있도록 하겠다”라고 밝혔다.

SCNU Operates “Lifelong Education Instructor Training Program,” Producing 32 Graduates and Expanding Jeonnam’s Lifelong Education Talent Pool

- Community-linked, AI-integrated curriculum and special lectures by distinguished speakers strengthen instructor competencies

Sunchon National University (SCNU, President Lee Byung-woon) announced that its Lifelong Education Center successfully operated the 2025 Lifelong Education Instructor Training Program from July 14 to August 7, producing 32 graduates. The program attracted not only local residents seeking to register as new instructors but also current instructors aiming to further enhance their expertise.

The training consisted of seven sessions, each two hours long, held at the Lifelong Education Center’s lecture rooms. The curriculum covered topics such as ▲ understanding adult learners ▲ utilizing AI-based digital tools ▲ visualizing trendy lecture materials ▲ personal branding and teaching methods. In particular, sessions on generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and ClovaX were met with strong positive feedback.

Special lectures by invited speakers were also open to the general public, contributing to the spread of lifelong learning culture. Author Lee Nak-jun (pen name Han San-i-ga) delivered a talk on “Learner-Centered Motivation Strategies,” while former KBS announcer Han Seok-jun spoke on “The Speech of a Refined Instructor.” One participant remarked, “Through practical, case-based training, I was able to acquire the qualities needed as a lifelong learning instructor and gain confidence in my role.”

SCNU’s Lifelong Education Center recruits instructors twice a year, in the spring and fall. Graduates of the instructor training program receive additional points in the recruitment process and are given opportunities to teach one-day classes, providing aspiring educators with valuable practical teaching experience.

Notably, the newly certified instructors are expected to teach in Jeonnam areas without universities, playing an important role in expanding educational opportunities for adult learners in underserved regions and strengthening the foundation of lifelong learning.

Director Park Seok-gon of the Lifelong Education Center stated, “This instructor training program is part of our ongoing efforts to bridge lifelong education gaps in Jeonnam and to strengthen the university’s role as a regional hub for lifelong learning. We will continue to offer tailored, community-linked education so that more local residents can benefit from learning opportunities.”
