- 예술적 실력과 잠재력 갖춘 지역 음악 꿈나무 발굴에 앞장

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 피아노학전공이 주관하는 「제16회 전국 피아노 콩쿠르」가 오는 9월 13일(토) 전라남도 순천시 국립순천대학교 70주년기념관 우석홀에서 열린다.

이번 콩쿠르는 전국 초·중·고등학생을 대상으로 자유곡 1곡 경연 형식으로 진행되며, 참가비는 무료다. 참가 신청은 7월 18일(금)부터 8월 29일(금)까지로, 참가 신청서는 국립순천대학교 피아노학전공 홈페이지(https://www.scnu.ac.kr/piano/main.do)에서 다운로드 가능하다.

국립순천대 피아노학전공은 매년 전국 단위 콩쿠르를 개최해 음악적 재능을 지닌 지역 예술 인재를 조기 발굴하고, 참가 학생들에게 실질적인 무대 경험과 성장을 지원하고 있다.

초등 전 학년과 중등부·고등부로 나누어 학년별로 시상이 진행되며, 심사는 전공 교수진과 외부 전문가로 구성된 심사위원단이 맡는다. 올해 전체 대상 수상자에게는 상장과 함께 상금 50만 원이 수여되는 등 실력 있는 학생들에게 실질적인 혜택도 제공될 예정이다.

국립순천대 피아노학전공 박숙련 전공주임은 “단순한 대회 운영을 넘어 지역 문화예술 발전과 미래 세대 양성이라는 취지 아래 콩쿠르를 이어오고 있다”라며, “올해는 더욱 많은 학생이 콩쿠르에 참여해 자신의 음악을 무대 위에서 펼치며 성장하는 기회를 가지길 바란다”라고 전했다.

한편, 국립순천대학교 피아노학전공은 콩쿠르 외에도 정기 연주회, 협주곡의 밤, 국내외 교수 초청 마스터 클래스, 지역 예술 교류 프로그램 등 실기와 이론이 조화를 이루는 교육을 통해 예술 교육 기관으로서의 역할을 지속해 나갈 계획이다.

Sunchon National University to Host the 16th National Piano Competition

- Nurturing young musical talents with artistic potential from across the country

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) will host the 16th National Piano Competition, organized by its Department of Piano, on Saturday, September 13, at the Wooseok Hall of the university’s 70th Anniversary Memorial Building in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do.

This year’s competition invites elementary, middle, and high school students nationwide to perform one freely chosen piece. There is no registration fee, and applications will be accepted from Friday, July 18 to Friday, August 29. Application forms can be downloaded from the Piano Department’s official website (https://www.scnu.ac.kr/piano/main.do).

The Department of Piano at Sunchon National University has consistently organized this annual national competition to discover promising young artists and provide them with meaningful stage experience and opportunities for growth.

Awards will be given by grade level, divided into lower elementary, middle, and high school divisions. The judging panel will consist of faculty members from the department as well as external experts. The overall grand prize winner will receive a certificate and a cash prize of KRW 500,000, offering tangible benefits to participants with outstanding performances.

Professor Park Suk-ryeon, head of the Piano Department, stated, “This competition is more than just an event- it serves as a platform for promoting regional culture and nurturing the next generation of artists,” adding, “We hope to see many students take the stage this year, using the experience as a stepping stone for personal and artistic growth.”

In addition to the competition, the Department of Piano at Sunchon National University plans to continue playing a leading role in arts education through a variety of programs such as regular concerts, Concerto Nights, master classes led by domestic and international professors, and community-based arts exchange initiatives that balance performance and theory.
