- 국립순천대 인권서포터즈 주도 캠페인으로 인권 인식 제고

- 퀴즈·게임·기념품 등 체험형 콘텐츠에 지역민·학생 참여 활발

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 인권센터가 지난 5월 28일부터 29일까지 양일간 캠퍼스 운동장에서 열린 향림대동제 ‘Fairy Tale’에 참여해 체험 부스를 운영하고, 지역민과 대학 구성원을 대상으로 이색적인 ‘인권 캠페인’ 활동을 펼치며 인권 의식 높이기에 앞장섰다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 지역사회와의 연계를 강화하고 인권에 대한 인식을 확산하기 위해 마련됐으며, 인권센터 서포터즈단의 자발적이고 주도적인 기획과 실행으로 완성도를 높였다. 특히, 서포터즈 학생들이 공강과 방과 후 시간을 활용해 행사 콘셉트 구상부터 프로그램 구성, 홍보 콘텐츠 제작까지 전 과정에서 중심적인 역할을 맡았다.

체험 부스에서는 △더 지니어스: SCNU △찾아보자 불법촬영카메라 △알쓸인권 기억력 배틀 등 인권 지식을 흥미롭게 접할 수 있는 여러 체험형 콘텐츠가 운영됐다. 참여자들은 퀴즈와 게임을 통해 인권의 개념과 중요성을 자연스럽게 익혔으며, 체험을 마친 뒤에는 서포터즈가 직접 디자인한 가방과 텀블러 등의 기념품으로 의미를 되새겼다.

특히, 사전 홍보를 위해 인권서포터즈단이 제작한 홍보 영상이 SNS를 통해 널리 확산되면서, 행사 당일 “영상 보고 왔어요”라는 반가운 인사와 함께 부스를 찾은 지역민과 학생들로 장사진을 이뤘다. 방문객들은 “인권센터가 어디 있는지, 어떤 활동을 하는 곳인지 잘 알게 되었다”라며, 그동안 생소했던 인권센터의 존재와 역할에 대한 이해를 높이는 계기가 되었다고 전했다.

부스 운영에 참여한 신윤주 서포터즈(무역학과 2년)는 “축제 현장을 찾은 지역민과 구성원에게 인권센터의 역할을 알릴 수 있어 큰 보람을 느꼈다”라며, “앞으로 더 많은 학생이 인권 활동에 관심을 가지게 되기를 기대한다”고 전했다.

정동보 인권센터장은 “이번 행사는 단순한 홍보를 넘어 학생들이 인권의 가치를 직접 체험하고 실천한 귀한 기회였다”라며, “앞으로도 인권센터가 더욱 가깝고 열려 있는 공간으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램을 지속해서 운영하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Sunchon National University Human Rights Center Hosts Campaign Booth at Hyangrim Festival

The Human Rights Center of Sunchon National University (President Byung-Woon Lee) announced that it participated in the Hyangrim Daedong Festival “Fairy Tale,” held on campus from May 28 to 29, by running an interactive booth and leading a unique human rights campaign to raise awareness among students and local residents.

The event was organized to strengthen community engagement and promote human rights awareness, with planning and execution led by the center’s student supporters. These student supporters played a central role in every aspect of the event?from concept development and program design to promotional content creation?making full use of their free periods and after-class time.

The booth featured hands-on activities such as The Genius: SCNU, Find the Hidden Camera, and Useful Human Rights Memory Battle, allowing visitors to learn about human rights concepts through engaging games and quizzes. Participants received souvenirs like tote bags and tumblers designed by the supporters themselves, adding further meaning to the experience.

A promotional video created by the student team was widely shared on social media prior to the event, drawing many visitors who said, “I came after seeing the video!” Students and local residents alike reported that the event helped them better understand the role and location of the Human Rights Center, which had previously been unfamiliar to many.

Shin Yoon-joo, a second-year supporter majoring in International Trade, said, “It was rewarding to share the center’s mission with festival visitors. I hope more students will become interested in human rights activities in the future.”

Director Jeong Dong-bo of the Human Rights Center stated, “This was more than just a promotional effort?it was a valuable opportunity for students to experience and practice the values of human rights firsthand. We will continue to offer diverse programs to ensure the center remains an open and accessible space for all.”
