…지리산 생태 체험 통해 가족 간 유대 강화 및 지역 문화 이해 증진

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 지난 5월 23일부터 24일까지 1박 2일간 지리산국립공원 일원에서 외국인 유학생 가족을 위한 정주지원 프로그램 '지리산 힐링캠프'를 운영했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 국립공원공단 지리산국립공원전남사무소와 협력하여 기획된 것으로, 외국인 유학생과 그 가족들에게 전남 지역의 자연과 문화를 소개하고, 가족 간 유대감 형성과 상호 소통을 도모하고자 마련됐다.

프로그램에는 우즈베키스탄, 몽골, 방글라데시 등 다양한 국적의 외국인 유학생과 가족 37명이 참여하였으며, △지리산생태탐방원 견학 △반달가슴곰 등 지리산 깃대종 체험학습 △생태학습장 관람 △가족 머그컵 및 부채 만들기 등의 체험 활동이 진행됐다.

국립순천대 서강석 국제교류교육본부장은 “외국인 유학생들의 안정적인 한국 생활을 지원하기 위해 기업탐방, 채용박람회, 국제교류의 날, 한국문화체험 등 다양한 프로그램을 운영하고 있다”라며, “앞으로도 입학부터 학업, 취업, 정착까지 유학생들이 성공적으로 적응할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”라고 밝혔다.

Sunchon National University Hosts ‘Jirisan Healing Camp’ for International Student Families

Sunchon National University (President Byung-Woon Lee) announced that it held a two-day residential support program titled “Jirisan Healing Camp” for international students and their families from May 23 to 24 at Jirisan National Park.

Organized in collaboration with the Korea National Park Service’s Jirisan Jeonnam Office, the program aimed to introduce the natural environment and culture of the Jeollanam-do region to international students and strengthen family bonds through shared experiences.

A total of 37 participants from various countries including Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and Bangladesh took part in the program. Activities included a guided tour of the Jirisan Ecological Exploration Center, a hands-on session on Jirisan’s symbolic wildlife such as the Asiatic black bear, a visit to the ecological learning center, and family craft workshops like mug and fan decorating.

Seo Kang-seok, Director of the Office of International Affairs at Sunchon National University, stated, “We offer a wide range of programs?from corporate visits and job fairs to International Exchange Day and Korean culture experiences?to support the successful adjustment of international students in Korea.” He added, “We will continue to provide active support throughout students’ entire journey?from enrollment to academics, employment, and settlement.”
