‘배리어프리존’ 운영으로 모두가 함께 즐기는 열린 축제 구현 

… 초청 공연과 시민참여 프로그램으로 화합의 장 열어

  국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 지난 5월 28일부터 29일까지 양일간 대학 캠퍼스 대운동장에서 지역민과 함께하는 향림대동제 ‘Fairy tale’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

  국립순천대학교 학생처 주관으로 열린 「2025 향림대동제 ‘Fairy tale’」은 개교 90주년을 기념하여 ‘동화(Fairy tale)’라는 테마 아래 ‘90년의 동화를 100년의 서약으로’라는 메시지를 담아, 대학의 역사와 미래 비전을 함께 조망하는 뜻깊은 시간을 선사했다.

 특히 이번 축제는 물리적 장벽 없이 모두가 함께 어울릴 수 있는 열린 소통의 장을 만들고자, 사회적 취약계층과 장애인, 임산부, 고령자 등 이동 약자를 배려한 ‘배리어프리존’을 운영하여 큰 호응을 얻었다.

  첫날 열린 개막식에는 이병운 총장을 비롯해 대학 주요 보직자, 김문수·권향엽 국회의원, 전남도의회 및 순천시의회 의원 등 주요 내외빈이 참석하여 지역의 대표 축제로 자리매김한 향림대동제의 개막을 함께 축하했다.

  이번 대동제에는 ▲국립순천대 중앙동아리 및 순천 지역 댄스동호회(maf), 힙합동호회(061area)의 공연 ▲대학가요제 ▲초청 가수 공연(싸이, QWER, 너드커넥션, 헤이즈, 백호, 현서) 등 다양한 무대가 펼쳐졌으며, 중간중간 지역민이 함께 참여할 수 있는 경품 추첨, 미니게임, 장기자랑 등 다채로운 프로그램도 마련돼 화합의 장을 펼쳤다.

  국립순천대 이병운 총장은 “향림대동제가 대학 구성원뿐만 아니라 지역민과 사회적 약자 모두가 함께 어우러지는 따뜻한 시간으로 기억되길 바란다.”라며, “앞으로도 대학과 지역이 함께 성장하는 소통과 상생의 문화를 만들어가겠다”라고 밝혔다.

Sunchon National University Hosts 2025 Hyangrim Daedong Festival ‘Fairy Tale’ to Celebrate 90th Anniversary

Sunchon National University (President Byung-Woon Lee) announced that it successfully held the 2025 Hyangrim Daedong Festival under the theme “Fairy Tale” from May 28 to 29 at the university’s main sports field, welcoming members of the local community to join the celebration.

Organized by the university’s Student Affairs Office, this year’s festival marked the university’s 90th anniversary with the message “From 90 Years of Fairy Tales to 100 Years of Promises,” offering participants an opportunity to reflect on the university’s past and envision its future.

Notably, the festival featured a “Barrier-Free Zone” to ensure open participation for all, including people with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, and other mobility-challenged individuals. This inclusive effort was widely praised by visitors and participants.

At the opening ceremony on the first day, President Lee and senior university administrators were joined by National Assembly members Moon-soo Kim and Hyang-yeop Kwon, along with members of the Jeollanam-do and Suncheon city councils, highlighting the festival’s role as a leading local cultural event.

The two-day festival featured a wide range of performances and events, including showcases by SNU’s student clubs, local dance crew MAF, hip-hop group 061area, a university music contest, and live concerts by popular artists such as PSY, QWER, Nerd Connection, Heize, Baekho, and Hyeonseo. In addition, community-friendly events like raffles, mini-games, and talent shows were held throughout the festival, creating a vibrant space for connection and celebration.

President Byung-Woon Lee stated, “I hope the Hyangrim Daedong Festival will be remembered as a warm and inclusive occasion, where university members, local residents, and marginalized communities could come together.” He added, “We will continue to foster a culture of mutual growth and communication between the university and the local community.”
