- 총장, 부총장, 학장, 처장 등 조직 관리자 대상 … 성인지 감수성과 조직문화 개선 강조 -

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 지난 8일 총장과 주요 보직자를 대상으로 성희롱·성폭력 예방을 위한 맞춤형 교육을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 국립순천대학교 인권센터(센터장 정동보) 주관으로 대학 본부에서 진행되었으며, 이병운 총장을 비롯해 부총장, 스쿨학장, 처장 등 주요 조직 관리자 25명이 참석했다.

강의는 여성가족부에서 파견된 이경하 박사(충청남도사회서비스원 정책연구실 연구위원)가 맡아 ▲성희롱·성폭력 관련 보직자의 역할과 책임 인식 ▲성인지적 관점과 조직문화의 연계성 ▲사건 발생 시 대응 절차 및 피해자 보호 방안(2차 피해 예방 포함) 등을 중심으로 보직자들과 직접 소통에 나섰다.

이병운 총장은 “조직 내 성폭력을 근절하기 위해서는 구성원 모두의 성인지 감수성 제고가 필수적”이라며, “보직자들이 앞장서서 인권이 존중되는 건강한 캠퍼스를 조성해 나가겠다”라고 강조했다. 교육을 마친 보직자들은 성희롱·성폭력 및 2차 가해가 발생하지 않도록 조직문화를 세심히 살피고, 관리자로서 책임감을 갖고 실천하겠다는 의지를 다졌다.

한편, 국립순천대학교 인권센터는 전 구성원을 대상으로 성희롱·성폭력 예방교육을 의무화하고 있으며, 성평등 문화 확산과 성범죄 예방을 위해 순천경찰서 등 유관기관과 협력하여 캠페인, 공모전 등 다양한 활동을 펼치고 있다. 이 과정에는 교직원과 학생으로 구성된 ‘인권 서포터즈단’이 적극 참여하고 있다.

Sunchon National University Conducts Tailored Sexual Harassment and Violence Prevention Training for Senior Administrators

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced that it held a customized training session on May 8 to prevent sexual harassment and sexual violence, targeting the university president and 25 key administrators.

The training was organized by the university's Human Rights Center (Director Jeong Dong-bo) and took place at the university headquarters. President Lee, along with vice presidents, school deans, and heads of major departments, participated in the session.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Kyung-ha Lee, a policy researcher from the Chungcheongnam-do Social Service Institute, dispatched by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. The session focused on key topics such as the roles and responsibilities of university administrators in addressing sexual misconduct, the importance of a gender-sensitive perspective in shaping organizational culture, and procedures for handling incidents, including measures to prevent secondary harm.

President Lee emphasized, “Raising gender sensitivity among all members of the university is essential to eradicating sexual violence within the organization,” adding, “University leaders must take the initiative in fostering a respectful and safe campus environment.”

After the training, participants reaffirmed their commitment to closely monitor the organizational culture and prevent incidents of harassment or secondary victimization, vowing to act with a strong sense of responsibility as administrators.

Meanwhile, the Sunchon National University Human Rights Center mandates sexual harassment and violence prevention training for all members of the university. It actively collaborates with institutions such as the Suncheon Police Station to promote gender equality and prevent sexual crimes through various initiatives, including campaigns and public contests. The university’s Human Rights Supporters Group, comprised of faculty and students, plays an active role in these efforts.
