- 학생회관 전 층 리모델링…AR피구부터 OTT박스, 글로컬라운지까지, 대학의 복합문화거점 탄생 -

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 디지털 시대에 부응하고 학생 중심 캠퍼스 구현을 위한 핵심 전략으로, 학생회관 전 층을 열린 디지털 문화공간으로 전면 리모델링했다고 밝혔다.

이번 공간 개편은 ‘학생이 머무는 대학, 소통하는 캠퍼스’라는 컨셉 아래, 디지털 콘텐츠 소비·제작, 자율 협업, 몰입형 체험, 문제해결형 학습 등 학생 활동 전반을 아우르는 복합문화플랫폼 공간으로 새롭게 조성한 것이 특징이다.

특히 3층에 조성된 AR 피구경기장은 전국 대학 최초로 설치된 실감형 스포츠 콘텐츠 체험 공간으로, 몰입감 높은 체육 활동과 그룹 협동 체험이 가능한 국립순천대만의 특화 시설이다. 더불어 ‘OTT BOX’는 학생들이 자유롭게 콘텐츠를 감상하며 정서적으로 휴식할 수 있는 공간으로 호응을 얻고 있다. 여가와 문화, 학습이 자연스럽게 이어지는 복합적 기능이 이번 공간 개선의 핵심이다.

공간 이용은 대학포털 시설물 사용신청 메뉴를 통해 손쉽게 예약할 수 있으며, 학생지원실, 학생활동미디어실, 미디어갤러리, 글로컬라운지 등은 별도의 예약 없이 자유롭게 이용할 수 있다.

한편, 28일 진행된 개관식에는 이병운 총장과 주요 보직자, 총학생회장과 학생회 임원, 교직원 등 50여 명이 참석해 개편된 공간을 함께 둘러보았다. 참석자들은 OTT BOX 시연, 공유공간 투어, AR 피구경기 시범 체험 등을 통해 공간의 혁신성을 직접 체감했다.

이병운 총장은 개관식을 통해 “디지털 세대 학생들에게 필요한 공간은 단순한 학습 시설을 넘어, 소통과 회복, 자기 표현이 가능한 경험 중심의 공간이어야 한다”며, “이번 디지털 문화공간은 학생들이 일상 속에서 창의성과 활력을 동시에 얻을 수 있는 플랫폼으로, 국립순천대의 교육 철학과 미래 캠퍼스의 방향을 상징한다”고 말했다. 이어 “앞으로도 학생의 성공과 행복이 실현되는 캠퍼스를 만들기 위해 실질적인 교육환경 혁신을 지속적으로 추진하겠다”고 강조했다.

Sunchon National University Unveils a Fully Renovated Student Center as a Digital Cultural Space

- A New Multi-Platform for Communication, Collaboration, and Immersive Experiences

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced that it has fully renovated the entire Student Center into an open digital cultural space, as part of its core strategy to meet the needs of the digital era and realize a student-centered campus.

The newly revamped space embodies the concept of “A University Where Students Stay, A Campus Where Communication Thrives,” providing a multi-platform environment that integrates digital content consumption and creation, autonomous collaboration, immersive experiences, and problem-solving-based learning.

A highlight of the renovation is the AR Dodgeball Arena on the third floor, the first of its kind among Korean universities, offering students an immersive sports experience and group collaboration activities. The “OTT BOX” lounges also gained positive feedback, providing spaces where students can relax and enjoy digital content. The seamless integration of leisure, culture, and learning is the core feature of this new cultural space.

Spaces such as the Student Support Room, Student Activity Media Room, Media Gallery, and Glocal Lounge are open for free use without reservation, while other facilities can be reserved easily through the university portal’s facility reservation system.

The opening ceremony, held on April 28, was attended by President Lee Byung-woon, university executives, the student body president, student council members, and faculty members. Attendees toured the renovated facilities, experienced the OTT BOX and shared spaces, and participated in an AR dodgeball demonstration to experience the innovation firsthand.

President Lee stated during the ceremony, "Spaces for the digital generation must go beyond simple study facilities. They should support communication, emotional recovery, and self-ex-pression." He emphasized that "This digital cultural space symbolizes Sunchon National University's educational philosophy and vision for the future campus, providing students with a platform to foster creativity and vitality in their daily lives." He further pledged to continue advancing substantial educational environment innovations to ensure student success and well-being.
