- 자은도에서 세계적 음악가들과 국립순천대 피아노학전공 학생들이 함께 펼치는 특별한 무대

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 피아노학전공이 오는 4월 26일 전남 신안군 자은도 양산해변의 1004 뮤지엄파크에서 열리는 ‘2025 피아노섬 축제 개막공연 With Italy’ 무대에 오른다.

이번 무대에는 황미경, 박숙련 교수와 함께 졸업생 및 재학생 등 총 18명의 학생이 참여해 세계적 아티스트들과 어우러져 감동적인 연주를 선보일 예정이다. 특히 국립순천대학교는 작년에 이어 2년 연속 축제에 초청돼 예술성과 실력을 입증하며, 지역을 대표하는 예술 교육기관으로 주목받고 있다.

‘피아노섬 축제’는 2023년부터 시작된 행사로, 수준 높은 문화예술 공연을 지역 주민들과 관광객에게 선보이며 호평을 받고 있다. 올해는 더욱 특별하게, 피아노의 고향 이탈리아를 대표하는 예술가들이 대거 참여한다.

이탈리아를 대표하는 피아노 연주자이자 소니 클래식 전속 음악가인 안드레아 바께티, 영화 음악의 거장 엔리오 모리꼬네와 음악적 동지이자 21년간 알바 뮤직 페스티벌(ALBA Music Festival)을 이끌어 온 플루트 연주자 쥬세페 노바, 그리고 파바로티 이후 이탈리아 최고의 테너로 불리는 알베르토 프로페타가 참여해 감동적인 무대를 꾸민다.

국내에서는 빼어난 지성과 따뜻한 감성을 겸비한 피아노 연주자 에드윈 킴, 섬세한 곡 해석과 서정적 음색으로 사랑받는 소프라노 박성희가 음악 감독 겸 연주자로 무대에 오른다.

‘둘이 하나 된다’는 의미를 담아 21명의 피아니스트와 프라임 필 오케스트라가 함께 무대에 오르며, 4월의 마지막 주말을 더욱 특별하게 만들 예정이다.

이러한 경험을 바탕으로, 국립순천대학교 피아노학전공은 예술적 역량과 실무 중심 교육을 바탕으로, 지역을 넘어 세계 무대에서도 활약할 수 있는 음악 인재를 양성하고 있다. 앞으로도 학생들의 음악적 성장을 위한 다양한 무대와 교육 기회를 지속적으로 마련해 나갈 계획이다.

Sunchon National University Piano Department to Perform at 2025 Piano Island Festival Opening Concert in Shinan

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced that its Piano Department will perform at the opening concert of the 2025 Piano Island Festival “With Italy” on April 26 at the 1004 Museum Park, located on Yangsan Beach, Jaeun Island in Shinan, Jeollanam-do.

Led by professors Hwang Mi-kyung and Park Sook-ryeon, a total of 18 students and alumni will join world-class artists on stage, delivering a moving performance. This marks the department’s second consecutive invitation to the festival, further establishing the university’s reputation as a leading regional institution for arts education.

First launched in 2023, the Piano Island Festival has garnered acclaim for presenting high-quality cultural performances to local residents and tourists alike. This year’s festival features an extraordinary lineup of Italian artists, including Andrea Bacchetti, a renowned pianist and Sony Classical artist; flutist Giuseppe Nova, a long-time collaborator of Ennio Morricone and co-director of the Alba Music Festival for 21 years; and Alberto Profeta, celebrated as Italy’s greatest tenor since Pavarotti.

Korean performers Edwin Kim, known for his intellectual depth and emotional warmth, and soprano Park Sung-hee, admired for her lyrical tone and delicate interpretations, will also take the stage as music directors and performers. In a performance themed around “Two Become One,” 21 pianists will share the stage with the Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, promising a spectacular finale to April’s final weekend.

Through such global engagements, Sunchon National University’s Piano Department continues to nurture talented musicians who are equipped with both artistic sensibility and practical experience, expanding their reach from the local community to the international stage. The department remains committed to providing students with diverse performance and learning opportunities that foster artistic growth.
