- 위험사회 HUSS 사업단 ‘대학생 명예주민자치위원’ 프로그램 참여해 마을 현장서 콘텐츠 제작·주민 소통 수행

… 청년 시각의 지역 문제 참여로 공동체 활성화 기여

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 위험사회 컨소시엄 인문사회융합인재양성사업단(이하 위험사회 HUSS 사업단)은 대학생 명예주민자치위원 활동을 수료한 국립순천대학교 재학생 4명이 순천시장 표창을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

이번 표창은 12월 12일 저전나눔터에서 열린 2025년 마을공동체 성과공유회 ‘따순마을 큰잔치’에서 수여됐으며, 각 팀의 활동을 대표한 강주은(행정학전공), 남지우(행정학전공), 여진(간호학과), 홍지민(사회교육과) 학생이 수상의 영예를 안았다.

학생들은 순천시와 순천시 마을공동체지원센터, 국립순천대학교 위험사회 HUSS 사업단이 협력해 운영한 ‘대학생 명예주민자치위원’ 프로그램에 참여해, 마을 콘텐츠 제작, 주민 인터뷰, 홍보물 기획 등 다양한 주민자치 프로젝트를 수행하며 지역사회 활성화에 기여해 왔다. 특히 행사 당일 남지우 학생은 공동체 트리 점등 퍼포먼스에 참여해 청년과 지역이 함께 만들어가는 공동체의 의미를 상징적으로 보여주었다.

홍지민 학생은 “명예주민자치위원 활동을 통해 청년의 참여가 지역사회에 긍정적인 변화를 만들어낼 수 있다는 것을 체감했다”며, “앞으로도 새로운 시각으로 지역과 함께 성장하는 활동을 이어가고 싶다”고 소감을 전했다.

김선명 위험사회 HUSS 사업단장은 “이번 표창은 지역사회 문제를 청년의 시각으로 발견하고, 이를 실천적 활동으로 연결한 성과”라며, “앞으로도 대학과 지역이 함께 성장할 수 있도록 다양한 참여형 프로그램을 지속적으로 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Four SCNU Students Receive Suncheon Mayor’s Commendation for Community Engagement

- University student honorary residents recognized for contributing to local community revitalization

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byeong-un) announced that four students who completed activities as University Student Honorary Resident Committee Members received commendations from the Mayor of Suncheon.

The commendations were presented on December 12 at the “Warm Village Community Festival,” a 2025 community achievement-sharing event held at Jeojeon Sharing Center. The awards were given to student representatives from each team: Kang Ju-eun (Public Administration), Nam Ji-woo (Public Administration), Yeo Jin (Nursing), and Hong Ji-min (Social Education).

The students participated in the “University Student Honorary Resident Committee” program jointly operated by Suncheon City, the Suncheon Community Support Center, and SCNU’s Risk Society HUSS Project Group. Through the program, they carried out a range of community-based activities, including creating local content, conducting resident interviews, and planning promotional materials, contributing to greater youth participation and local community activation. During the event, Nam Ji-woo also took part in a community tree-lighting ceremony, symbolizing cooperation between young people and local residents.

Hong Ji-min said, “Through this program, I realized that young people can make meaningful contributions to local communities. I hope to continue participating in activities that bring positive change from a youth perspective.”

Kim Seon-myeong, Director of the Risk Society HUSS Project Group, stated, “This commendation recognizes students’ ability to identify local issues from a youth perspective and translate their ideas into practical action. We will continue to support programs that enable universities and local communities to grow together.”
