- 안전한 캠퍼스 조성을 위한 3일 간 전수 점검 완료

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 인권센터는 안전한 학습 환경 조성을 위해 2025년 하반기 불법촬영 카메라 점검을 12월 6일(토), 8일(월), 9일(화) 총 3일간 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 점검은 학내 모든 화장실을 대상으로 한 전수 점검 방식으로 진행되었으며, 불법촬영 탐지 장비를 활용해 화장실 내부와 탈의 공간, 세면대 주변, 칸막이, 환풍구 등 불법촬영이 우려되는 지점을 집중 점검했다.

특히 이번 점검에는 인권센터 서포터즈단과 교직원이 함께 참여해 점검의 신뢰도를 높였으며, 주말(9시~13시), 야간시간(18시~21시)을 활용하여 도서관을 포함한 총 30개 동 남녀 화장실 총 360여 개소와 탈의실 및 복도 등 캠퍼스 내의 건물을 집중 점검했다.

점검 결과, 불법촬영 의심 장비는 발견되지 않았으며, 학내 구성원이 안심하고 이용할 수 있는 환경이 유지되고 있음을 다시 한 번 확인하는 계기가 되었다.

학생들은 “학교에서 정기적으로 불법촬영 점검을 진행해 주어 안심이 된다”, “화장실 이용에 대한 불안감이 줄었다” 등의 긍정적인 반응을 보였다.

국립순천대학교 정동보 인권센터장은 “불법촬영은 개인의 인권과 안전을 심각하게 침해하는 범죄인 만큼, 사전 예방이 무엇보다 중요하다”며, “앞으로도 정기적인 점검과 예방교육을 통해 안전하고 존중받는 캠퍼스 문화를 지속적으로 조성해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 국립순천대학교 인권센터는 매년 정기적으로 불법촬영 카메라 점검을 비롯해 성희롱·성폭력 예방교육, 인권캠페인 등 다양한 인권 보호 활동을 지속적으로 추진하고 있다.

SCNU Human Rights Center Conducts Illegal Hidden Camera Inspections in the Second Half of 2025

- Three-day comprehensive inspection completed to ensure a safe campus environment

Sunchon National University (SCNU) announced that its Human Rights Center conducted a comprehensive inspection for illegal hidden cameras on campus over three days, from December 6, 8, and 9, as part of efforts to ensure a safe learning environment.

The inspection covered all campus restrooms and was carried out using professional detection equipment. Areas inspected included restroom interiors, changing spaces, sinks, partitions, and ventilation systems?locations considered vulnerable to illegal filming.

To enhance credibility, the inspection was conducted jointly by Human Rights Center staff and student supporters. Inspections took place during weekends (9:00?13:00) and evening hours (18:00?21:00), covering restrooms for both men and women in approximately 30 buildings across campus, including the library, as well as changing rooms and corridors.

No suspicious devices were found during the inspection, reaffirming that the campus remains a safe environment for all members. Students responded positively, noting that regular inspections help reduce anxiety and increase their sense of security when using campus facilities.

Jeong Dong-bo, Director of the SCNU Human Rights Center, emphasized that illegal filming is a serious violation of personal rights and safety, adding that prevention is essential. He stated that the university will continue to foster a safe and respectful campus culture through regular inspections and preventive education.

Meanwhile, the SCNU Human Rights Center continues to carry out a wide range of human rights protection activities each year, including regular hidden camera inspections, sexual harassment and violence prevention education, and campus-wide human rights campaigns.
