- 협약 기반으로 오는 2026년부터 프로그램 참여 학생 선발 및 운영 예정

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)와 우즈베키스탄 기묘국제대학교가 지난 9월 1일, 2+2 복수학위 프로그램 추진을 위한 양해각서(MOA)를 체결했다. 이번 협약은 양교의 교육 협력을 강화하고, 국제 경쟁력을 갖춘 인재를 양성하기 위한 중요한 전환점으로 평가된다.

이번 협약으로 양교 학생들은 2년은 국립순천대학교에서, 나머지 2년은 기묘국제대학교에서 수학해 양교 학위를 동시에 취득할 수 있게 된다. 이를 통해 학생들은 국제적 학문 경험과 전문성을 쌓으며 글로벌 무대에서 경쟁력을 확보할 기회를 얻게 된다. 2+2 복수학위 프로그램은 오는 2026년부터 참여 학생을 선발해 운영할 예정이다.

서강석 국립순천대학교 국제교류교육본부장은 “이번 협약을 통해 양교의 국제 교육 협력이 한층 강화될 것으로 기대한다”며, “앞으로도 다양한 국가와 긴밀한 협력 관계를 구축해 글로벌 교육 경쟁력을 높여 나가겠다”고 밝혔다. 아크라모브 일홈 기묘국제대학교 국제처장도 “국립순천대학교와의 협력이 학생들에게 폭넓은 학습 경험과 국제적 시야를 제공할 것”이라며 기대감을 전했다.

앞서 국립순천대학교는 지난 7월 기묘국제대학교를 포함한 우즈베키스탄 교원 21명을 초청해 ‘2025 해외 교원 특별 연수 프로그램’을 운영하며, AI·멀티미디어 활용 교수법, 한국어 교육 실습 등으로 교류 기반을 다진 바 있다.

국립순천대학교는 이번 협약을 계기로 해외 대학과의 2+2 복수학위 프로그램, 공동 한국학 연구소 설립 등 국제교류 프로젝트를 확대해 글로벌 교육 허브로서의 입지를 강화할 계획이다.

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byoung-un) and Qimyov International University in Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on September 1 to establish a 2+2 dual degree program. The agreement marks an important milestone in strengthening academic cooperation and cultivating globally competitive talent.

Under the agreement, participating students will complete two years at Sunchon National University and two years at Qimyov International University, earning degrees from both institutions. The program will officially begin recruiting students in 2026, offering opportunities to gain international academic experience and expertise for global competitiveness.

Seo Kang-seok, Dean of International Relations and Education at Sunchon National University, said, “This agreement will significantly strengthen international academic collaboration between the two universities. We will continue to expand partnerships with institutions around the world to enhance our global education competitiveness.” Ilhom Akramov, Director of International Affairs at Qimyov International University, added, “We are delighted to provide students with broader learning opportunities and global perspectives through our cooperation with Sunchon National University.”

Earlier in July, Sunchon National University hosted the “2025 Special Overseas Faculty Training Program,” inviting 21 faculty members from Uzbekistan, including Qimyov International University. The program featured hands-on training in AI and multimedia teaching methods, curriculum development, and Korean language education, laying a strong foundation for ongoing exchange.

Building on this MOA, Sunchon National University plans to expand its international collaboration projects, including additional 2+2 dual degree programs and the establishment of joint Korean Studies institutes, further strengthening its position as a global education hub.
