국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 ‘2026학년도 수시모집’에서 신입생 1,649명을 선발하며, 글로컬대학30·전남 RISE·국립대학육성사업 등 주요 국책사업 성과를 바탕으로 신입생에게 파격적인 지원 혜택을 제공한다고 밝혔다.

국립순천대는 교육부 글로컬대학30 사업에 선정돼 5년간 약 3,235억 원, 전남 RISE(지역혁신중심대학지원체계) 사업으로 680억 원을 확보했으며, 2025년 국립대학육성사업 성과평가에서 호남권 국립대학 중 유일하게 2년 연속 최고등급(S등급)을 획득해 125억 원의 추가 재정을 확보했다.

이러한 성과를 토대로 기존 150여 개 장학제도에 더해 ▲등록금 전액과 연 600만 원 생활비를 지원하는 ‘글로컬우수인재 장학금’ ▲생활비 100만 원을 지원하는 ‘글로컬정주지원 장학금’ 등 신입생 맞춤형 장학제도를 운영한다.

또한, 학생들이 국제 역량을 키울 수 있도록 유럽 등 선진국 탐방(1인 최대 900만 원), 청춘 세계로 탐방(팀당 800만 원), 해외 24개 기관과의 교류 프로그램 등 다양한 글로벌 학습·교류 기회도 제공한다.

국립순천대는 2026학년도 전체 모집 정원 1,685명 중 97.9%에 해당하는 1,649명을 수시모집으로 선발한다. 특히 지역인재전형은 693명으로 전국 대학 중 최고 수준인 42%를 차지한다. 수시모집 원서접수는 오는 9월 8일(월)부터 12일(금)까지 진행되며, 전형별 모집 인원은 △학생부교과 1,174명 △학생부종합 418명 △실기·실적 57명이다.

국립순천대는 글로컬대학30 선정에 따라 개편된 3대 특화분야(▲그린스마트팜스쿨 ▲애니메이션·문화콘텐츠스쿨 ▲우주항공·첨단소재스쿨)를 중심으로 21개 글로컬 통합모집단위를 운영한다. 세부적으로는 생명산업과학분야 299명, 사회과학분야 269명, 인문분야 90명, 예체능분야 145명, 공학분야 383명을 모집하며, 전공 선택의 폭을 더욱 넓히기 위해 자유전공학부도 110명을 선발한다.

국립순천대 강희순 입학처장은 “새롭게 마련된 장학제도와 프로그램들이 수험생들에게 실제로 도움이 될 수 있도록 꼼꼼히 안내하고 지원하겠다”라며, “앞으로도 학생 눈높이에 맞춘 맞춤형 입학 정보를 제공해 많은 우수 인재가 순천대를 선택하기를 바란다.”라고 밝혔다.

SCNU to Admit 1,649 Students Through 2026 Early Admission… Offering Groundbreaking Support Based on National Projects

Sunchon National University (President Byung-Un Lee) announced it will admit 1,649 new students through its 2026 early admission process, while providing groundbreaking benefits to incoming students based on major national project achievements, including Glocal University 30, the Jeonnam RISE (Regional Innovation-centered University Support System), and the National University Development Project.

SCNU secured approximately KRW 323.5 billion over five years through its Glocal University 30 selection, KRW 68 billion through the Jeonnam RISE program, and an additional KRW 12.5 billion by achieving the top S grade for two consecutive years in the 2025 National University Development Project evaluation?the only national university in the Honam region to do so.

Based on these achievements, SCNU is introducing tailored scholarship programs in addition to its existing 150 scholarships, including the “Glocal Talent Scholarship” (full tuition plus KRW 6 million annual living stipend) and the “Glocal Settlement Support Scholarship” (KRW 1 million living stipend).

To strengthen global competencies, SCNU will also provide diverse opportunities such as overseas study tours to Europe and other advanced countries (up to KRW 9 million per student), the “Youth Global Exploration” program (KRW 8 million per team), and exchange programs with 24 overseas institutions.

For 2026, SCNU will admit 1,649 students out of its total quota of 1,685 (97.9%) through early admission. Notably, the regional talent quota is set at 693 students, accounting for 42%?the highest proportion among universities nationwide. Application submissions run from September 8 (Mon.) to 12 (Fri.), with recruitment by track as follows: 1,174 for academic records, 418 for comprehensive evaluation, and 57 for arts and special achievements.

Following its Glocal University 30 designation, SCNU has restructured its programs into three specialized clusters?Green Smart Farm School, Animation & Cultural Content School, and Aerospace & Advanced Materials School?and will operate 21 “Glocal Integrated Admission Units.” These include 299 students in life sciences, 269 in social sciences, 90 in humanities, 145 in arts and sports, and 383 in engineering, along with 110 students in a flexible Liberal Studies program to broaden major selection options.

Kang Hee-Soon, Dean of Admissions, stated: “We will provide thorough guidance and support so that these newly established scholarships and programs can truly benefit prospective students.
