- 지역사회 연계, 안전하고 균형 잡힌 급식 제공

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)가 순천시로부터 수탁 운영 중인 순천시가족센터 공동육아나눔터는 지난 7월 23일(수)부터 8월 23일(월)까지 여름방학 기간 돌봄 사각지대 해소를 위한 「방학 중 돌봄프로그램」을 성공적으로 운영했다.

프로그램은 초등학교 3학년부터 6학년 아동 8명을 대상으로 진행되었으며, 학교 밖 돌봄 운영을 통한 체계적인 관리·보호를 기반으로 가족의 돌봄 기능을 보완하는 데 중점을 두었다. 특히, 방학 중 결식 우려가 있는 아동과 맞벌이 가정 아동을 위해 학습지원, 다양한 체험활동, 급식 제공이 결합된 맞춤형 돌봄 서비스를 제공하여 아동들의 건강한 성장과 보호자의 육아 부담을 경감했다.

점심 급식은 순천 지역 연계로 순천미즈여성병원, 자금성, 순천시자원봉사센터, 순천시사랑의 띠복지협회, 동그라미 봉사단, 반찬나눔봉사단에서 후원했으며, 도시락 소독과 수거는 순천지역자활센터 에코워싱에서 지원하여 위생적이고 안전하게 운영되었다. 이를 통해 아이들이 방학 중에도 결식 없이 건강하고 균형 잡힌 식사를 안전하게 제공받을 수 있었다.

또한, 학습 보조, 식사 제공, 안전한 아동 보호 등으로 구성된 프로그램은 참여 아동들의 정서적 안정과 사회성 향상에도 긍정적인 영향을 주었으며, 지역사회와 연계한 나눔과 협력의 돌봄 모델로 자리매김했다.

참여 아동 보호자들은 “맞벌이 가정이라 방학 돌봄이 늘 고민이었는데, 공동육아나눔터에서 아이를 안전하게 맡아주셔서 마음이 놓였다.”, “아이가 집에 와서 즐겁게 보낸 이야기를 해줄 때마다 너무 감사했다”며 높은 만족감을 전했다.

한편, 순천시가족센터 박애리 센터장은 “이번 여름방학 프로그램은 단순한 돌봄을 넘어 학습, 식사, 안전을 아우르는 종합적 아동 지원의 장이 되었다. 무엇보다 지역사회가 함께 참여해 아이들을 지켜주고 성장시켰다는 점에서 큰 의미가 있고, 앞으로도 돌봄 사각지대를 해소하고 아이들이 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램을 확대해 나가겠다”는 소감을 밝혔다.

SCNU Family Center Provides Tailored Summer Care Program for Elementary Students

- Local partnerships ensure safe and balanced meals during vacation

Sunchon National University (SCNU, President Lee Byung-woon) announced that the SCNU-operated Suncheon Family Center successfully ran a “Summer Care Program” from July 23 to August 23, supporting children from multicultural families during school vacation.

The program served eight children from grades 3 to 6, focusing on structured learning support, experiential activities, and meal provision. By addressing the needs of children at risk of food insecurity and those from dual-income households, the initiative helped promote healthy growth while easing the childcare burden on parents.

Daily lunches were safely provided through sponsorships from local organizations including Suncheon Miz Women’s Hospital, Jageumseong, Suncheon Volunteer Center, and other community groups. Eco Washing, a social enterprise, supported disinfection and collection, ensuring hygiene and food safety.

In addition to academic support and safe childcare, the program fostered emotional stability and social development for participants. Parents expressed gratitude, noting their relief in entrusting their children to a reliable and caring environment.

Park Ae-ri, Director of the Suncheon Family Center, stated, “This program went beyond simple childcare by combining learning, meals, and safety into a comprehensive support system. With strong community participation, it became a meaningful model of shared responsibility, and we will continue to expand such programs to ensure that all children grow up healthy and supported.”
