- K-POP 댄스·자국 문화공연·소감발표 등 … 300여 명 외국인 유학생 함께한 교류의 장

- 성적우수상·개근상 등 시상 통해 학습 성과 격려

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 지난 7월 25일, 학내 70주년기념관 우석홀에서 국제교류교육본부 주관으로 한국어학당 성과발표회 및 수료식을 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사에는 몽골, 베트남, 우즈베키스탄, 인도네시아, 방글라데시 등 17개국에서 온 외국인 유학생 300여 명이 참여해, 국적과 문화를 넘어 함께 어우러지는 뜻깊은 교류의 장이 펼쳐졌다.

행사는 학생들이 직접 준비한 K-POP 댄스 공연을 시작으로, 몽골 전통 노래, 베트남 전통춤 등 각국의 문화를 소개하는 무대로 이어졌으며, 한국어학당에서의 배움과 성장을 공유하는 소감 발표회가 따뜻한 분위기를 더했다. 이날 시상식에서는 성적우수상, 개근상 등 다양한 부문에서 우수한 성과를 거둔 학생들이 무대에 올라 박수와 축하를 받았다.

학생 대표로 소감을 발표한 몽골 출신 유학생 뭉크바타르는 “국립순천대학교에서 한국어를 배우는 동안 많은 친구를 사귀고, 한국 문화를 깊이 이해할 수 있었다”라며, “이 경험이 앞으로의 진로에도 큰 도움이 될 것 같다”라는 소감을 전했다.

서강석 국제교류교육본부장은 “학생들이 한국어를 배우고 새로운 환경에 적응하기 위해 보여준 노력과 열정에 깊은 감명을 받았다”며, “앞으로도 외국인 유학생들이 더 좋은 환경에서 한국어와 한국 문화를 배울 수 있도록 다양한 지원을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

국립순천대학교 한국어학당은 외국인 유학생을 대상으로 매 학기 400시간 맞춤형 수준별 한국어 교육뿐 아니라 한국 문화 체험, 버디 프로그램, 지역 살아보기, 취업캠프 등 한국과 지역의 문화를 경험할 수 있는 다양한 교육 과정도 함께 운영하며 지역정주형 인재 양성에 앞장서고 있다.

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) successfully held the Korean Language Institute Showcase and Completion Ceremony on July 25 at the Wooseok Hall in the university’s 70th Anniversary Memorial Building. Hosted by the Office of International Affairs, the event brought together over 300 international students from 17 countries, including Mongolia, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, and Bangladesh, creating a meaningful platform for cultural exchange.

The event began with student-led K-POP dance performances and continued with traditional cultural showcases, including Mongolian folk songs and Vietnamese traditional dances. The atmosphere grew even warmer as students took the stage to share their personal reflections on their learning experiences at the Korean Language Institute.

An awards ceremony followed, honoring students for their outstanding academic achievements and perfect attendance. The stage was filled with applause and celebration as students were recognized for their hard work and dedication.

Munkhbat, a Mongolian student who delivered a speech on behalf of the participants, shared, “While studying Korean at Sunchon National University, I made many friends and gained a deep understanding of Korean culture. This experience will be a great asset for my future career.”

Seo Kang-seok, Director of the Office of International Affairs, remarked, “I was deeply impressed by the effort and passion our students showed in learning Korean and adapting to a new environment. We will continue to provide strong support so that international students can study Korean and experience Korean culture in an even better environment.”

The Korean Language Institute at Sunchon National University offers customized, level-based Korean language education with 400 hours of instruction per semester. In addition to language training, the program includes cultural experience courses, buddy programs, local homestay opportunities, and career development camps, contributing to the university’s vision of fostering globally-minded talent rooted in the local community.
