- “지역 청년층 발굴과 실효성 있는 고용 지원 체계 모색” 

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 대학일자리플러스센터는 지난 7월 24일(목), 광양고용복지플러스센터에서 『졸업생 및 지역청년 발굴을 위한 운영기관 실무자 간담회』를 개최했다. 참석 기관들과 지역 청년 고용 활성화를 위한 협력 방안에 대해 활발한 논의를 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 간담회는 졸업생 및 지역청년의 미취업 해소와 전라남도 인구 감소에 대응하기 위한 일환으로 마련되었으며, 광양 지역 내 고용 연계 기관 실무자 등 약 20명이 참석하였다. 주요 참여 기관으로는 광양고용복지플러스센터, 광양시청, 광양여성새로일하기센터, 광양중장비학원, 광양만권HRD센터, 광양만권인력양성사업단 등이 있다.

간담회에서는 대학일자리플러스센터에서 현재 추진 중인 ‘2025년 졸업생 특화 프로그램’의 운영 현황과 향후 계획을 공유하고, 유관기관 간 청년 고용정책 연계를 통한 협업 방안을 심도 있게 논의하였다. 해당 프로그램은 미취업 졸업생 및 지역청년을 대상으로 개별 맞춤형 상담을 통해 취업 준비도를 진단하고, 수요에 따라 입사지원서 작성, 면접 특강, 현직자 멘토링 등 단계별 프로그램을 제공하는 것이 특징이다. 이를 통해 실질적인 취업역량 강화를 지원하고 있으며, 향후에도 유관기관과의 협력을 통해 다양한 연계 프로그램을 지속 확대해 나갈 예정이다.

또한, 참석자들은 청년층을 대상으로 한 구직지원, 직업훈련, 인턴십, 일경험 제공 등 다양한 고용지원 정책과 프로그램에 대한 정보를 공유하고, 이를 졸업생 특화 프로그램과 어떻게 유기적으로 연계할 수 있을지에 대해 의견을 나눴다. 이를 통해 각 기관이 보유한 자원을 효과적으로 연계함으로써, 지역 청년들에게 보다 실질적이고 체계적인 취업 지원이 이루어질 수 있도록 협력 기반을 다지는 계기가 되었다.

한편, 대학일자리플러스센터 관계자는 “졸업생과 지역청년이 지역 내에서 일자리를 찾고 정착할 수 있도록, 앞으로도 고용정책 유관기관과의 긴밀한 협조를 통해 실효성 있는 지원을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.

SCNU Career+ Center and Gwangyang Employment Center Hold Working-Level Meeting to Support Local Youth and Graduates

- Seeking Effective Employment Support Strategies for Discovering and Assisting Local Young Job Seekers 

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon, SCNU) held a working-level meeting titled “Supporting Graduates and Discovering Local Youth” on Thursday, July 24, at the Gwangyang Employment Welfare+ Center. The event was organized by the university’s Career+ Center and brought together key employment support institutions in the Gwangyang area to discuss cooperative strategies for revitalizing youth employment in the region.

This meeting was part of a broader effort to address youth unemployment among graduates and local young people, while also responding to population decline in Jeollanam-do. Approximately 20 representatives from related organizations participated, including the Gwangyang Employment Welfare+ Center, Gwangyang City Hall, Gwangyang Women’s Re-employment Center, Gwangyang Heavy Equipment Training Institute, Gwangyang Bay Area HRD Center, and the Gwangyang Bay Area Human Resource Development Consortium.

During the meeting, SCNU’s Career+ Center shared the current status and future plans for its 2025 Specialized Program for Graduates, designed to support unemployed alumni and local youth. The program provides individualized career counseling, job readiness assessments, and a sequence of services including resume writing support, interview training, and mentoring by professionals?all tailored to each participant's needs. Through this, the center aims to enhance practical employability skills and will continue to expand collaborative programs with related agencies.

Participants also exchanged information on a wide range of employment support initiatives for young people, such as job search assistance, vocational training, internships, and work experience programs. Discussions focused on how these efforts could be organically linked with SCNU’s specialized graduate program to form an integrated and effective support system. The meeting served as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration and maximize the use of each institution's resources for the benefit of young job seekers in the region.

A representative from SCNU’s Career+ Center stated, “We are committed to helping our graduates and local youth find employment and settle in the region. We will continue to collaborate closely with relevant employment policy institutions to ensure meaningful and practical support moving forward.”
