- 인도 현지 어학원 ‘Neev’와 한국어학당 협력 기관 지정 양해각서(MOU) 체결 … 학부 진학까지 이어지는 교육 연계 체계 구축

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)가 개교 이래 처음으로 인도와의 교육 협력 기반을 마련하며, 글로벌 교육역량 확대에 나섰다. 국립순천대 국제교류교육본부(본부장 강신원)는 인도 현지 어학원 ‘Neev’를 국립순천대학교 한국어학당 협력기관으로 지정하고, 지난달 26일 인도 현지에서 양해각서(MOU) 및 협력합의서(MOA)를 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협력을 통해 국립순천대학교는 인도 내 한국어 교육 수요에 대응할 수 있는 중요한 거점을 확보하게 되었으며, 한국어 및 한국 문화에 관심이 높은 현지 학생들에게 체계적인 교육을 제공할 예정이다. 특히 Neev 어학원의 강사진은 인도 명문 네루대학교 한국어학과 박사들로 구성되어 있어, 전문성과 신뢰도를 동시에 갖춘 교육이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

강신원 국제교류교육본부장은 “이번 협력은 단순한 교육 연계를 넘어, 인도 학생들이 국립순천대학교 학부 과정까지 진학할 수 있는 실질적인 통로를 마련한 것”이라며, “앞으로도 인도 내 협력 기반을 지속 확대하여 더 많은 학생이 본교의 우수한 교육 시스템을 경험할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 국립순천대학교는 이번 협력을 통해 매년 40~60명의 인도 학생이 본교에 진학할 것으로 예상하며, 향후 협력 기관을 더욱 확대해 인도 전역으로 교육협력 체계를 넓혀갈 계획이다.

Sunchon National University Expands Global Education Capacity through First-Ever Partnership in India

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) has established its first-ever educational partnership with India, marking a new step in expanding its global education capacity. The Office of International Affairs and Education (Director Kang Shin-won) announced that it has designated "Neev," a local language institute in India, as an official partner of Sunchon National University’s Korean Language Institute. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) were signed locally in India on April 26.

Through this partnership, Sunchon National University has secured a strategic hub to meet the growing demand for Korean language education in India. The university plans to provide structured educational programs in Korean language and culture to Indian students with high interest in Korea. Notably, the instructors at Neev are composed of Ph.D. graduates from the Department of Korean Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, one of India’s top institutions, ensuring both expertise and academic credibility.

“This collaboration goes beyond a simple academic linkage; it establishes a practical pathway for Indian students to advance into Sunchon National University’s undergraduate programs,” said Kang Shin-won, Director of the Office of International Affairs and Education. “We will continue to expand our cooperative base across India so that more students can benefit from the university’s outstanding education system.”

Through this agreement, Sunchon National University expects to admit 40 to 60 Indian students annually. The university also plans to broaden its partnership network across India to establish a more robust and far-reaching education cooperation framework.
