- 개교 90주년 축하와 함께 ‘좌석 기부제’에도 동참

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 개교 90주년을 맞아 국제라이온스협회355-B3(전남동부)지구 방동현 前총재가 개교 90주년을 맞아 대학의 교육환경 개선과 문화 공간 조성을 위해 발전기금 1천만 원을 기탁했다고 14일 밝혔다.

이날 총장실에서 열린 기탁식에는 이병운 총장을 비롯해 문승태 대외협력부총장, 남기창 교학부총장, 강신원 국제교류교육본부장, 그리고 기탁자인 방동현 前총재가 참석해 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.

방동현 前 총재는 “지역사회와 함께 성장해 온 순천대의 개교 90주년을 진심으로 축하드린다”며, “이번 기탁이 지역 인재를 키우고 대학의 미래를 견고히 다지는 데 작은 디딤돌이 되길 바란다”고 전했다.

이에 대해 이병운 총장은 “총재님의 따뜻한 나눔은 우리 대학이 문화 기반을 더욱 탄탄히 다지고, 학생 중심의 교육환경을 만들어가는 데 큰 힘이 될 것”이라며, “국립순천대는 앞으로도 지역사회와 함께 ‘100년의 미래’를 그려나가는 실천을 멈추지 않겠다”고 화답했다.

한편, 국립순천대는 개교 90주년을 기념해 학내 최대 강연공간인 우석홀을 대상으로 ‘좌석 기부 캠페인’을 진행하고 있다. 이 캠페인은 좌석마다 기부자의 이름이나 메시지를 새겨 대학과의 소중한 인연을 공간 속에 오래도록 남기는 참여형 기부 프로그램이다.

기부금은 개교 90주년을 상징하는 90만 원부터 최대 270만 원까지 지정 가능하며, 지역과 함께 하는 대학의 비전에 공감하는 누구나 참여할 수 있다. 자세한 사항은 (재)순천대학교발전지원재단(061-750-6221~2)을 통해 안내받을 수 있다.

발전지원재단 관계자는 “이 캠페인은 단순한 기부를 넘어, 나의 이름이 대학의 역사 한 페이지가 되는 특별한 기회”라며, “순천대를 아끼는 많은 분들의 관심과 동참을 기다린다”고 전했다.

Former Governor Bang Dong-hyun Donates KRW 10 Million to Sunchon National University in Celebration of Its 90th Anniversary

- Contribution Aims to Enhance Educational Environment and Cultural Spaces

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced on April 14 that Bang Dong-hyun, former governor of Lions Clubs International District 355-B3 (Eastern Jeollanam-do), donated KRW 10 million to commemorate the university's 90th anniversary. The donation is intended to improve the university's educational environment and develop cultural spaces.

A donation ceremony was held at the university president's office, attended by President Lee Byung-woon, Vice President for External Cooperation Moon Seung-tae, Vice President for Academic Affairs Nam Ki-chang, Director of the Office of International Affairs Kang Shin-won, and donor Bang Dong-hyun. 

Former Governor Bang expressed his sentiments, stating, "I sincerely congratulate Sunchon National University on its 90th anniversary, having grown together with the local community. I hope this donation serves as a small stepping stone in nurturing local talent and solidifying the university's future."

President Lee responded, "Your generous contribution will significantly aid our university in strengthening its cultural foundation and creating a student-centered educational environment. Sunchon National University will continue to collaborate with the local community to envision and realize the next 100 years." 

In celebration of its 90th anniversary, Sunchon National University is conducting a "Seat Donation Campaign" for its largest lecture hall, Wooseok Hall. This participatory donation program allows donors to engrave their names or messages on individual seats, leaving a lasting connection with the university. 

Donation amounts range from KRW 900,000, symbolizing the 90th anniversary, up to KRW 2.7 million. Anyone who resonates with the university's vision of community engagement is welcome to participate.
