- 직원·재학생 멘토, 지속적인 멘토링·봉사 프로그램 운영으로 지역사회와 동행 이어가

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 사회봉사단은 지난 9일 순천SOS어린이마을에서 직원과 재학생 50여 명이 참석한 가운데 멘토링 프로그램 ‘기억과 공감’의 멘토 위촉식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

국립순천대 사회봉사단은 지난 2021년 순천SOS어린이마을과 상호협력 업무협약을 체결한 이후, 지역 보호아동을 위한 다양한 봉사활동을 꾸준히 이어오고 있다. 지난해에는 국립대학육성사업의 지원을 받아 어린이마을 아동을 대상으로 멘토링 프로그램 16회와 어울림캠프 1회를 성공적으로 운영한 바 있다.

올해에도 국립순천대 사회봉사단은 아이들의 건강한 성장을 돕기 위해 매월 3~4회 기관을 방문해 학습지도 및 진로 상담 등을 펼치고, 어울림캠프·체험의 날 행사 등 다양한 프로그램으로 정서적 교감에 나설 계획이다. 또한, 플로깅, 농촌 봉사, 마을 봉사 등 지역사회 수요에 맞춘 맞춤형 봉사 프로그램도 지속적으로 기획·운영할 예정이다.

정정조 국립순천대학교 사회봉사단장(학생처장)은 “지역과 함께하는 활동을 통해 배려와 나눔의 가치를 배우고 실천할 수 있는 뜻깊은 기회를 올해도 갖게 되어 기쁘다”며, “대학 구성원 모두가 작은 일부터 실천하며 지역사회에 긍정적인 변화를 만들어갈 수 있도록 적극적으로 봉사에 참여하겠다”고 소감을 전했다.

Suncheon National University Appoints Mentors for “Memory and Empathy” Program

Suncheon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) held a mentor appointment ceremony for its “Memory and Empathy” mentoring program on April 9 at the Suncheon SOS Children’s Village. The event, attended by more than 50 students and staff members, marked the beginning of this year’s mentoring activities designed to support children in care. Since signing a partnership agreement with the Village in 2021, the university’s Volunteer Corps has continued to organize regular service programs, including 16 mentoring sessions and a community camp last year with support from the National University Promotion Project.

In 2024, the Volunteer Corps plans to expand its efforts through monthly visits to provide academic guidance and career counseling. Additional activities such as “Harmony Camp,” experiential events, and plogging, along with rural and neighborhood service projects, are also in the works. The university aims to create meaningful opportunities for students and staff to engage with the community while fostering empathy and shared growth.
