- 개교 90주년 맞아 학술·문화 교류 성과 공유 및 실질 협력 확대 논의 

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 지난 10일 본교를 방문한 중국 북경과기대학교(Beijing University of Science and Technology) 대표단과 상호협력을 위한 교류 간담회를 가졌다고 밝혔다.

이번 방문은 국립순천대학교 개교 90주년을 맞아, 1993년부터 이어져 온 양교 간 학술·문화 교류의 성과를 되짚고 향후 협력 확대 방안을 논의하기 위해 마련되었다. 간담회에는 북경과기대학교 우꾸이롱 당서기, 리바오밍 국제학생중심처 주임, 루신 국제처 부처장을 비롯한 주요 인사가 참석했으며, 국립순천대 문승태 대외협력부총장, 정동보 대학원장, 강신원 국제교류교육본부장, 박성우 중어중문학과장 등이 함께했다.

양 대학은 그동안 한국학 프로그램 운영, 학생·교수진 교류, 4개 대학 공동 심포지엄 등 다양한 방식으로 협력하며 굳건한 우정을 이어왔다. 이번 간담회에서는 그간의 교류 성과를 공유하고, △학생 단기연수 확대 △공동 연구 프로젝트 추진 △문화·언어교육 교류 활성화 등 실질적인 협력 강화 방안에 대해 의견을 나누었다.

북경과기대 대표단은 간담회 이후 스마트도서관, 국제교류교육본부, 자연과학 강의동 등을 둘러보며, 순천대가 최근 추진 중인 교육혁신 프로젝트와 지역사회 연계 프로그램에 높은 관심을 보였다.

국립순천대 문승태 대외협력부총장은 “북경과기대와의 오랜 인연은 우리 대학의 국제화에 깊이를 더하는 매우 소중한 자산”이라며 “한층 두터워진 양교의 우정과 신뢰를 바탕으로 더욱 활발한 교류가 이어지길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

Suncheon National University Hosts Delegation from Beijing University of Science and Technology for Exchange Dialogue

On April 10, Suncheon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) welcomed a delegation from Beijing University of Science and Technology (BUST) to hold a dialogue on expanding academic and cultural cooperation between the two institutions.

The visit marked the 90th anniversary of Suncheon National University and served as an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of bilateral exchange efforts that have been ongoing since 1993. The BUST delegation included Party Secretary Wu Guilong, Director of the Center for International Students Li Baoming, and Deputy Director of International Affairs Lu Xin. From Suncheon National University, Vice President for External Affairs Moon Seung-tae, Graduate School Dean Jeong Dong-bo, Director of the Office of International Affairs Kang Shin-won, and Professor Park Sung-woo of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature attended the meeting.

The two universities have maintained a strong partnership through Korean Studies programs, student and faculty exchanges, and joint symposia involving four universities. The latest dialogue focused on expanding short-term student programs, promoting joint research, and enhancing cultural and language exchange initiatives.

Following the meeting, the BUST delegation toured the university’s Smart Library, Office of International Affairs, and Science Lecture Hall, expressing keen interest in SNUs’ ongoing education innovation projects and community-linked programs.
