- 총 165명 입학… SW융합·자율탐구 등 창의력 중심 교육과정 안내

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 과학영재교육원은 지난 4월 5일(토), 사범대학 1호관 합동강의실에서 ‘2025학년도 과학영재교육원 입학식’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

올해 국립순천대 과학영재교육원에는 초등 심화과정 72명, 중등 사사기초과정 73명, 중등 사사과정 20명 등 총 165명의 학생이 입학했다. 입학식은 이들 학생에 대한 입학 허가와 함께, ICT 기반 및 소프트웨어(SW) 융합 교육, 프로젝트형 자율 탐구 프로그램 등 향후 교육과정에 대한 오리엔테이션으로 진행됐다.

김현우 국립순천대 과학영재교육원장은 “우리 교육원은 차별화된 커리큘럼을 통해 교육생들이 잠재력과 창의성을 발현할 수 있도록 적극 지원해 왔다.”라며, “앞으로도 과학 발전에 기여할 인재로 성장할 수 있도록 최선을 다해 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 국립순천대학교 과학영재교육원은 2003년 개원 이후 과학기술정보통신부와 한국과학창의재단의 지원을 받아, 과학기술진흥기금과 복권기금을 재원으로 운영되고 있다.

Sunchon National University Holds 2025 Entrance Ceremony for Science Gifted Education Center

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced that its Science Gifted Education Center held the entrance ceremony for the 2025 academic year on Saturday, April 5, at the College of Education's main lecture hall.

A total of 165 students were admitted this year, including 72 in the elementary advanced course, 73 in the middle school basic research course, and 20 in the middle school advanced research course. The ceremony included official admission approval and an orientation on the upcoming curriculum, such as ICT-based and software convergence education, as well as project-based autonomous inquiry programs.

Director Kim Hyun-woo of the Science Gifted Education Center stated, “Our center has continuously supported students in realizing their potential and creativity through a distinctive curriculum,” and added, “We will continue to provide full support so that they may grow into talents who contribute to the advancement of science.”

Established in 2003, the Sunchon National University Science Gifted Education Center is operated with funding from the Science and Technology Promotion Fund and Lottery Fund, supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.
