국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 2025학년도 2학기 종강을 앞두고 학업과 시험으로 바쁜 학생들을 응원하기 위해, 지난 9일 오후 1시 30분부터 3시까지 캠퍼스 정문 일원에서「총장이 쏜다」 이벤트 데이를 운영했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 학생 복지와 캠퍼스 공동체 회복을 위한 소통 한마당으로 꾸려졌다. 총장과 주요 보직자가 직접 학생들에게 짧은 응원 메시지를 전하고, 학생들의 목소리를 경청하며 의미있는 소통을 진행했다. 기말시험 준비에 지친 학생들을 위해 소규모 간식 나눔, 포토존, 대화 이벤트 등 학생 참여 중심 프로그램이 진행되었으며, 산타클로스 복장을 준비해 유쾌하고 따뜻한 분위기로 학생들에게 행복을 전했다.

이병운 총장은 “학생들이 매일 묵묵히 쌓아 올리는 노력과 성장이 우리 대학을 밝히는 가장 큰 힘”이라며, “힘들고 바쁜 시간을 지나고 있는 청춘들에게 한 사람 한 사람이 귀한 존재라는 마음을 전하고 싶다”고 말했다. 또한, “앞으로도 학생들의 학업 여건과 복지를 세심하게 살피며 든든한 힘이 되는 대학이 되도록 늘 곁에서 함께하겠다”라고 강조했다.

한편, 국립순천대학교는 학생들의 의견을 반영해 일상 속 응원과 소통을 확대하는 학생 중심 복지 프로그램을 꾸준히 실천해 나갈 예정이다.

SCNU Holds “President Treats” Event to Cheer Students Ahead of Finals

- Senior administrators share snacks and engage in on-site conversations to support student well-being

Sunchon National University (SCNU) announced that it held a “President Treats” communication event on December 9, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., near the main campus gate to encourage students ahead of the end of the 2025 academic year’s second semester.

The event was organized as a student-centered initiative to promote student welfare and strengthen the campus community. The university president and senior administrators personally met with students, delivered brief messages of encouragement, and listened to their thoughts and concerns through direct, informal conversations.

To help students take a short break from exam preparation, the program featured light snack sharing, a photo zone, and interactive conversation activities. Administrators also wore Santa Claus costumes, creating a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere that added warmth and enjoyment to the campus.

President Lee Byeong-woon said, “The steady efforts and growth of our students are the greatest source of strength for our university,” adding, “I wanted to remind each student that they are a truly valuable and important individual during this demanding time.” He also emphasized that the university will continue to stand by students by carefully supporting their academic environment and well-being.

Meanwhile, SCNU plans to continue expanding student-focused welfare programs that emphasize everyday encouragement and open communication, reflecting student feedback and needs.
