- HUSS ‘위험사회에 대한 국가전략 모색’ 컨소시엄 5개 대학 재학생을 대상으로 운영

- 위험사회에 대비하기 위한 문제해결 역량 강화… 현장 탐방·특강 진행 

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 위험사회 컨소시엄 인문사회융합인재양성사업단(이하 ‘위험사회 HUSS 사업단’)은 지난 7월 20일부터 24일까지 5일간 중국 상해에서 열린 ‘사회문제해결 상해 글로벌캠프’에 참여했다고 밝혔다. 이번 캠프는 위험사회 컨소시엄 5개 대학(선문대학교, 세종대학교, 국립순천대학교, 순천향대학교, 국립한밭대학교) 재학생을 대상으로 진행됐다.

사회문제해결 상해 글로벌캠프는 ‘위험사회에 대한 국가전략 모색’을 주제로 한 HUSS 사업단 학생들의 글로벌 소통 역량 증진 및 자기주도적 솔루션 도출 능력 향상을 위해 운영되었으며, 인문사회융합인재양성전공 교과목을 수강한 학생들이 해외 답사를 통해 위험사회에서 발생할 수 있는 현지의 문제를 탐색하고, 이를 다양한 시각과 창의적인 방법으로 해결하는 데 중점을 두었다.

이번 글로벌캠프는 ▲사전 조사 및 문제 탐색 ▲문제해결을 위한 팀별 프로젝트 수행 ▲현지 기업 답사 ▲사회문제해결을 위한 현지 전문가 특강 ▲팀별 프로젝트 성과 발표 및 시상 등으로 구성되었으며, 각 대학에서 10명씩 선발하여 총 50명이 10개의 팀으로 나뉘어 프로젝트를 수행했다.

팀별 프로젝트는 △중국 상해와 한국 서울의 젠트리피케이션 현상 비교 △AI 발전과 중국 사회의 통제에 대한 문제 탐색 △초연결사회 정보 취약 계층과 디지털 포용 정책 탐방 등 팀별로 각각 관심 있는 주제에 따라 운영되었다. 중국과 한국의 문제 사례 비교하거나, 초연결사회에서 발생할 수 있는 글로벌 사회문제에 대한 탐구가 주로 이루어졌으며, 이에 맞는 사례 답사와 문제 해결을 위한 논의가 있었다.

캠프 마지막 날에는 프로젝트 발표와 함께 우수 팀에 대한 시상식이 열렸다. 각 대학별 교수진 평가를 통해 최우수상, 우수상, 장려상, 특별상 총 4개 팀이 수상했다. 이외에도 상해 폭스바겐 기업 답사, 사회문제해결을 위해 글로벌 인재가 갖추어야 할 역량을 주제로 한 전문가 특강도 함께 진행되었다.

국립순천대학교 김선명 위험사회 HUSS 사업단장은 “이번 사회문제해결 상해 글로벌캠프는 학생들이 낯선 곳에서 팀별로 활동하며 리더십을 키우고 사회 문제에 대해 깊이 고민해볼 수 있는 기회다”라며 “학생들이 자기주도적으로 문제를 해결하고 답사하는 과정을 통해 소중한 경험을 얻었길 바란다”고 전했다.

한편, 위험사회 HUSS 사업단은 국립순천대학교를 비롯해 5개 대학이 컨소시엄을 구성해 운영 중이며, 본 사업은 2023년부터 교육부와 한국연구재단의 지원을 받아 인문사회 기반의 융합교육을 통해 사회적 실천 역량을 갖춘 인재 양성을 목표로 다양한 교육 프로그램을 추진하고 있다.

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced that its HUSS (Humanities Utmost Sharing System) Project for Risk Society participated in the “Global Social Problem-Solving Camp in Shanghai,” held from July 20 to 24 in Shanghai, China. This international program brought together students from five universities within the HUSS consortium: Sunmoon University, Sejong University, Sunchon National University, Soonchunhyang University, and Hanbat National University.

The Shanghai Global Camp was organized under the theme “Exploring National Strategies for a Risk Society,” with the goal of strengthening students’ global communication skills and their ability to develop self-directed solutions to pressing social issues. Participating students, enrolled in interdisciplinary humanities and social science courses, conducted overseas field research to identify and address potential challenges in risk-prone societies using creative and diverse approaches.

The five-day program included activities such as pre-camp research, team-based problem-solving projects, company visits, expert lectures from local professionals, and a final project presentation with an awards ceremony. A total of 50 students, with 10 selected from each university, were divided into 10 teams to carry out collaborative projects.

Project topics included a comparative study of gentrification in Shanghai and Seoul, an analysis of AI development and social control in China, and an exploration of digital inclusion policies for vulnerable groups in a hyperconnected society. Each team investigated a topic of interest, conducted local fieldwork, and engaged in discussions on practical solutions to global social issues.

On the final day, a project presentation and awards ceremony were held. Four teams received awards, including the Grand Prize, Excellence Award, Encouragement Award, and Special Recognition, based on evaluations by faculty from each university. Students also had the opportunity to visit Volkswagen Shanghai and attend an expert lecture on the core competencies global citizens need to address complex social problems.

Professor Kim Sun-myung, Director of the HUSS Project at Sunchon National University, remarked, “This global camp in Shanghai was a valuable opportunity for students to develop leadership and critical thinking while working in teams in an unfamiliar environment. I hope each student gained meaningful experiences through this process of inquiry and hands-on problem-solving.”

The HUSS Project is a consortium of five universities, including Sunchon National University, and has been supported by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea since 2023. The project aims to cultivate socially engaged talent through interdisciplinary education in the humanities and social sciences, and continues to offer a wide range of programs to equip students with practical and ethical competencies for an evolving global society.
