- 전공자율선택제 신입생을 위한 맞춤형 전공·진로 탐색 프로그램 운영

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 그린스마트팜스쿨(구 생명산업과학대학)은 지난 5월 27일 교내 70주년기념관 전시홀과 우석홀에서 ‘2025 그린스마트팜스쿨 전공박람회’를 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 박람회는 2025학년도부터 확대 시행된 ‘전공자율선택제’에 맞춰 기획된 행사로, 신입생들이 다양한 전공을 직접 체험하고 탐색하며 자신의 적성과 진로에 맞는 학문을 주도적으로 선택할 수 있도록 지원하고자 마련되었다.

국립순천대 그린스마트팜스쿨은 농업, 생명, 식품, 바이오 등 다양한 분야를 아우르는 융합 교육을 지향하며, 총 10개 전공으로 구성되어 있다. 박람회에서는 전공별 전시 부스를 통해 교수진과 재학생이 참여 학생들에게 교육과정, 연구 분야, 진로 전망 등에 대해 생생하게 소개했다.

이번 박람회에 참여한 전공은 ▲농생명과학전공 ▲산림자원학전공 ▲조경학전공 ▲동물자원과학전공 ▲원예학전공 ▲식품공학전공 ▲농업경제학전공 ▲의생명과학전공 ▲조리과학전공 ▲바이오한약자원학전공 등이다.

김행훈 그린스마트팜스쿨 학장은 “학생이 직접 진로를 탐색하고 전공을 선택하는 과정은 다소 낯설 수 있지만, 스스로 자율성과 책임감을 키워갈 수 있는 좋은 기회라고 생각한다”며, “학생들이 자신의 무한한 가능성을 실현할 수 있도록 앞으로도 학생 주도형 융합 교육과 실질적인 진로 지원을 강화해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 국립순천대학교는 전공 자율 선택제를 기반으로 융합·연계전공 등 다전공을 활성화 하고 학생 중심의 유연한 학사제도 운영을 통해 학생 맞춤형 진로 설계와 학습지원체계를 확대해 나가고 있다.

SCNU Green Smart Farm School Hosts 2025 Major Fair to Support Student-Led Academic Exploration

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced that its Green Smart Farm School (formerly the College of Life and Industrial Sciences) successfully held the “2025 Green Smart Farm School Major Fair” on May 27 at the university's 70th Anniversary Hall.

The event was organized in alignment with the newly expanded “Self-Directed Major Selection System” starting from the 2025 academic year. It aimed to provide incoming students with opportunities to explore various academic majors through hands-on experiences, helping them to select fields of study that align with their aptitudes and career interests.

The Green Smart Farm School integrates diverse disciplines, including agriculture, life sciences, food science, and biotechnology, and is composed of ten specialized majors. At the fair, each department operated exhibition booths where faculty and current students introduced their academic programs, research areas, and career prospects.

Participating majors included: Agricultural Life Sciences, Forest Resources, Landscape Architecture, Animal Science, Horticulture, Food Engineering, Agricultural Economics, Biomedical Science, Culinary Science, Bio-Herbal Resource Studies

Dean Kim Haeng-hoon commented, “While the process of choosing a major through self-exploration may feel unfamiliar to students, it offers a valuable opportunity to develop autonomy and a sense of responsibility. We will continue to enhance student-centered interdisciplinary education and practical career support to help students realize their full potential.”

Sunchon National University is actively promoting multiple majors, including interdisciplinary and connected majors, based on the Self-Directed Major Selection System. The university is also expanding flexible, student-centered academic structures to support individualized career planning and learning support systems.
