- 5월 2일 하동야생차문화축제 주무대 앞 광장에서 열려 … 전국의 차인들 누구나 참여 가능, 접수는 4월 8일까지

- 전통 제다문화 확산 및 차 산업 경쟁력 강화 기대

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 지리산권문화연구원(원장 이욱)은 오는 5월 2일(금) 오전 10시부터 오후 2시까지, 경남 하동군 하동야생차박물관 및 축제 주무대 앞 광장에서 ‘2025하동티블렌딩대회’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 대회는 (사)하동야생차문화축제조직위원회가 주최하고, (사)하동차생산자협의회와 국립순천대학교 지리산권문화연구원이 공동 주관한다. 하동산 녹차와 홍차를 활용한 티블렌딩을 통해 하동 차의 품질향상과 인지도 제고, 나아가 한국 차 산업의 발전을 도모하기 위해 기획됐다. 대회는 ‘제28회 하동야생차문화축제’ 프로그램의 하나로 마련됐으며, 전국의 차인들이 한자리에 모여 자신만의 블렌딩 기술을 선보일 예정이다.

참가 대상은 티소믈리에, 티블렌딩 전문가, 바리스타, 교육생 등 차에 관심 있는 누구나이며, 총 30팀(팀당 2인 이하 구성) 이상을 모집한다. 참가를 원하는 경우, 오는 4월 8일(화) 자정까지 하동군 홈페이지 공고 또는 포스터 내 QR코드를 통해 참가 신청서를 작성하고 이메일로 제출하면 된다.

전문가 심사를 통해 진행되는 시상은 다음과 같다. ▲금상 1팀에는 농림축산식품부 장관상과 상금 100만 원 ▲은상 2팀에는 상장과 상금 50만 원 ▲동상 3팀에는 상장과 상금 30만 원 ▲하동군수상 1팀에는 상장과 상금 20만 원이 수여된다. 이외에도 ▲톡톡 아이디어상(1팀) ▲하동의 자랑상(2팀) ▲영호남 화합상(1팀) 등 특별 수상팀에는 차 상품이, 참가자 전원에게는 참가증서와 찻잔 기념품, 티블렌딩 활동사진이 제공될 예정이다.

지리산권문화연구원은 현재 한국연구재단의 지원을 받아 ‘한국 전통 제다 기법의 역사적 원형 복원과 현대적 계승을 위한 DB 구축’ 연구를 수행 중이다. 이를 통해 전통차 산업의 국제 경쟁력 강화를 위한 기초자료를 확보하고, 역사문화 콘텐츠 개발의 기반을 마련하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. ‘2025하동티블렌딩대회’는 이러한 연구 성과를 대중과 연결하는 대표 사례로 주목받고 있다.

Sunchon National University to Co-Host 2025 Hadong Tea Blending Competition

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byeong-woon) and the Jirisan Cultural Research Institute (Director Lee Uk) will co-host the 2025 Hadong Tea Blending Competition on Friday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hadong Wild Tea Museum and festival plaza in Hadong-gun, Gyeongnam Province.

The event is part of the 28th Hadong Wild Tea Culture Festival and is co-organized by the Hadong Wild Tea Culture Festival Committee, the Hadong Tea Producers Association, and Sunchon National University's Jirisan Cultural Research Institute. The competition aims to enhance the quality and recognition of Hadong's green and black teas, while promoting the growth of Korea's tea industry.

Participants may include tea sommeliers, tea blending experts, baristas, and anyone interested in tea. Up to 30 teams (2 members or fewer per team) will be accepted. Applications must be submitted via the Hadong County website or QR code on the event poster by midnight on April 8 (Tuesday).

Awards will be presented following expert evaluation: Gold Prize (1 team): KRW 1,000,000 and a certificate from the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Silver Prize (2 teams): KRW 500,000 and a certificate, Bronze Prize (3 teams): KRW 300,000 and a certificate, Hadong Governor’s Award (1 team): KRW 200,000 and a certificate, Special Awards: including the Creative Idea Award, Hadong Pride Award, and Yeongho-Nam Harmony Award (tea products will be given)
