- 직원 12명, 학생 14명 3개 팀으로 나눠 다양한 인권 보호 교육·홍보 활동 나선다

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) 인권센터는 학생과 교직원의 관심을 이어받아 ‘제2기 인권신장 및 성평등 지킴이 서포터즈’ 26명을 선발하고, 오는 21일 ‘세계 인종차별 철폐의 날’ 기념 캠페인을 시작으로 본격적인 활동에 나선다고 밝혔다.

제2기 서포터즈는 인권 감수성과 성평등 의식이 높은 직원과 학생들을 대상으로 직원 12명, 학생 14명(외국인 유학생 2명 포함)을 추천 받아 선발하였다. 인권센터는 17일 위촉장 수여식을 열고, 서포터즈의 역할과 책임에 대한 교육을 진행했다.

올해 인권 서포터즈는 더욱 체계적인 활동을 위해 3개 팀으로 운영된다. 각 팀은 ▲인권 관련 영상 제작(1팀) ▲혐오 표현 단속 및 신고 활동(2팀) ▲인권 예방 및 홍보물 제작 및 SNS 홍보(3팀)를 담당할 예정이다.

올해 처음 직원 서포터즈로 선발된 신남용 주무관(교육지원실)은 “다양한 교육과 홍보 활동을 통해 조직 안에서부터 인권 의식이 존중되는 건강한 근무 환경을 조성할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 포부를 밝혔다.

국립순천대 정동보 인권센터장은 “개인의 권익 보호에 대한 사회적 관심이 날로 높아지면서, 인권 감수성을 높이는 길잡이 역할을 하는 서포터즈의 활동이 더욱 중요해졌다.”라며, “캠퍼스를 넘어 지역 사회에서도 인권 가치를 실현할 수 있도록 적극적으로 활동해 주시길 기대한다.”라고 서포터즈단을 격려했다.

한편, 국립순천대 인권센터는 3월 ‘세계 인종차별 철폐의 날’ 기념 인권의식 강화 캠페인을 시작으로 혐오 표현 단속, 인권 관련 영상 콘텐츠 제작 등 다양한 활동을 펼쳐나갈 계획이다.

Sunchon National University Human Rights Center Launches 2nd Human Rights and Gender Equality Supporters Team

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byeong-woon) announced that its Human Rights Center has selected 26 members for the 2nd Human Rights and Gender Equality Supporters Team. The team will officially commence its activities on March 21, starting with a campaign to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

The 2nd cohort of supporters was selected from university staff and students with a strong awareness of human rights and gender equality. A total of 12 staff members and 14 students (including two international students) were recommended and appointed. On March 17, the Human Rights Center held an appointment ceremony and provided training on the roles and responsibilities of the supporters.

To ensure more structured and effective activities this year, the supporters are divided into three teams, each focusing on different areas: Production of human rights-related videos(Team 1), Monitoring and reporting hate speech(Team 2), Human rights awareness campaigns, promotional materials, and social media outreach (Team 3).

Shin Nam-yong, an administrative officer, who was newly selected as a staff supporter, shared his thoughts: “I will do my best to foster a work environment where human rights awareness is respected, starting from within our organization, through various educational and promotional activities.”

Jung Dong-bo, Director of the SNU Human Rights Center, emphasized the growing importance of human rights advocacy, stating, "As social awareness of individual rights continues to rise, the role of our supporters in promoting human rights sensitivity has become even more critical. I hope the team will actively contribute to realizing human rights values, not only on campus but also in the wider community."

Meanwhile, the SNU Human Rights Center plans to carry out a variety of initiatives, starting with a human rights awareness campaign in March to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. These initiatives will include monitoring hate speech and producing human rights-related video content to further promote awareness and advocacy.
