- AI 번역·영상 제작·자녀 학습 지원 등 실생활 중심 교육에 결혼이민자 17명 참여
국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) SW중심대학사업단은 지난 7월 22일(화), 국립순천대 국제문화컨벤션관에서 순천시가족센터와 협력하여 결혼이민자들의 안정적인 한국 정착을 지원하기 위한 ‘AI를 활용한 한국생활 적응’ 특강을 성황리에 개최했다. 이번 특강은 결혼이민자들이 실생활에서 인공지능(AI) 기술을 실용적으로 활용할 수 있도록 ▲AI 기술 및 번역 도구 소개 ▲영상 제작 기초 ▲AI를 활용한 자녀 학습 지원 등 생활 밀착형 콘텐츠로 구성됐다. 당초 10명을 대상으로 계획된 이번 특강에는 총 17명의 결혼이민자가 참여했으며, 수강생들은 AI에 대한 높은 관심 속에 강의 종료 시각까지 열정적인 실습과 질의응답을 이어갔다. 특히 실습 중심 맞춤형 교육으로 처음 AI를 접한 이들에게도 이해하기 쉬운 구성으로 마련되어 높은 만족도를 이끌어냈다. 교육에 참여한 한 수강생은 “ChatGPT를 통해 한국어와 모국어 간 번역이 가능해져 일상생활이 훨씬 편해졌다”며 “아이의 숙제를 이해하고 도와줄 수 있는 자신감도 생겼다”고 소감을 전했다. 또 다른 수강생은 “영상 제작 기초 과정이 매우 흥미로워 향후 유튜브에도 도전해보고 싶다”고 밝혔다. 심춘보 SW중심대학사업단장은 “이번 특강은 지역사회의 디지털 정보 소외계층을 대상으로 SW역량을 높이는 뜻깊은 시간이었고, 앞으로도 다양한 환경과 계층을 위한 SW가치 확산 교육 봉사활동을 지속해 나가겠다”고 전했다. 한편, 국립순천대학교 SW중심대학사업단은 과학기술정보통신부와 정보통신기획평가원(IITP)의 지원을 받아 전라남도, 순천시, 광양시, 고흥군과 협력하여 지역 내 SW가치 확산을 위한 다양한 교육 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.
SCNU Hosts Special AI Workshop to Help Marriage Immigrants Adapt to Life in Korea
- 17 participants learn practical skills in AI-based translation, video creation, and child learning support
Sunchon National University (SCNU, President Lee Byung-woon) successfully held a special workshop titled “Adapting to Life in Korea Using AI” on Tuesday, July 22, at the SCNU International Convention Center. The event was hosted by the SCNU SW-Centered University Project Group in collaboration with the Suncheon City Family Center, aiming to support marriage immigrants in settling more comfortably in Korean society.
The workshop provided practical, everyday applications of artificial intelligence, including an introduction to AI tools and translation apps, basics of video production, and how to support children’s learning using AI. The content was carefully designed to be accessible even to first-time AI users.
Originally planned for 10 participants, the program drew 17 marriage immigrants who actively participated until the end, engaging in hands-on activities and Q&A sessions. The tailored, practice-oriented approach received high praise for its user-friendly design and real-life relevance.
One participant shared, “Using ChatGPT has made daily life easier by helping me translate between Korean and my native language. I now feel more confident helping my child with homework.” Another added, “The video creation segment was fascinating. I’m even considering starting my own YouTube channel.”
Shim Chun-bo, Director of the SCNU SW-Centered University Project Group, stated, “This program was a meaningful opportunity to support digital inclusion for underrepresented groups in our community. We will continue to promote SW education and volunteer initiatives for people from diverse backgrounds.”
The SCNU SW-Centered University Project Group is supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP). The project operates a wide range of educational programs in cooperation with Jeollanam-do Province, Suncheon City, Gwangyang City, and Goheung County to promote the value of software across the region. ● 온라인 기사 링크
