국립순천대학교(총장 이병운) SW중심대학사업단은 지난 7월 14일(월), 고흥군과의 상호 협력 프로그램 운영 협약에 따라 고흥중학교에서 ‘SW 나눔콘서트’를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 이번 행사는 지역 청소년의 AI·SW 과학문화에 대한 이해와 활용 능력 제고를 목표로 마련되었다.

고흥지역 중학생들이 소프트웨어 문화를 직접 체험할 수 있도록 구성된 참여형 체험 행사로, 고흥중학교의 협조를 통해 총 230여 명의 재학생들이 참가했다. 학생들은 AI·SW 중심의 교육 환경을 경험하며 변화하는 디지털 교육 콘텐츠에 대한 이해를 넓히는 시간을 가졌다.

특히 이번 행사는 국립순천대학교 ‘SW교육강사 양성 프로그램’을 수료한 대학원생 및 학부생 강사 14명이 직접 운영에 참여해 의미를 더했다. 이들은 체계적인 이론·실습 교육을 이수하고 지역 내 초·중·고등학교에서 SW 교육 봉사활동을 수행하며 역량을 쌓아온 인재들로, 이번 콘서트를 통해 지역 청소년의 눈높이에 맞춘 실습 중심의 SW 체험 교육을 진행했다.

‘SW 나눔콘서트’에서는 만들기 체험(▲픽셀아트 키링 만들기 ▲나만의 블루투스 스피커 만들기 ▲플라잉볼 만들기), 코딩 체험(▲레트로 아케이드 게임 제작 ▲마이크로비트를 활용한 마퀸 조종), 소프트웨어 기술 체험(▲3D펜 ▲VR 게임 ▲AR 스마트 양궁 ▲아바타 모션캡처 ▲드론축구) 등 다양한 프로그램이 운영되었다. 참가 학생들은 직접 손으로 만들고 조작하며 AI·SW 기술을 자연스럽게 체득했다.

심춘보 SW중심대학사업단장은 “SW중심대학사업을 통해 양성된 전문 강사들이 전남 지역 곳곳에서 SW 교육과 가치 확산 활동에 참여하고 있다”라며, “이번 나눔콘서트는 지역 청소년들이 AI·SW 환경에 자연스럽게 적응하고 몰입할 수 있는 교육 생태계를 조성하는 좋은 사례”라고 밝혔다. 이어 “앞으로도 지역사회의 디지털 역량 강화를 위한 프로그램을 지속적으로 확대해 나갈 계획”이라고 덧붙였다.

한편, 국립순천대학교 SW중심대학사업은 과학기술정보통신부와 정보통신기획평가원(IITP)의 지원을 받아 전라남도, 순천시, 광양시, 고흥군 등과 함께 추진되고 있으며, 지역 내 디지털 격차 해소와 SW 인재 양성을 위한 다양한 교육 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.

Sunchon National University Hosts “SW Sharing Concert” with Goheung Middle School

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced that its Software-Centered University Project Group (SWCU Project Group) held the “SW Sharing Concert” at Goheung Middle School on Monday, July 14, as part of a collaborative education initiative with Goheung County. The event aimed to enhance local students’ understanding of AI and software (SW) culture and improve their ability to apply these technologies.

The program was designed as a participatory experience, allowing students in the Goheung area to engage directly with SW culture. With cooperation from Goheung Middle School, more than 230 students took part in the event, gaining firsthand experience of AI- and SW-based educational content and the rapidly evolving digital learning environment.

Notably, the event was led by 14 graduate and undergraduate students who had completed Sunchon National University’s “SW Education Instructor Training Program.” These student instructors, trained through a systematic curriculum combining theory and hands-on practice, have been volunteering at elementary, middle, and high schools across the Jeollanam-do region. Their participation in the concert contributed to delivering hands-on, student-centered SW education tailored to local youth.

The “SW Sharing Concert” featured a wide range of interactive experiences, including ▲Making Activities (pixel art keychain crafting, DIY Bluetooth speaker assembly, flying ball creation) ▲Coding Activities (retro arcade game development, Maqueen robot control using Micro:bit) ▲Software Technology Activities (3D pen art, VR gaming, AR smart archery, avatar motion capture, drone soccer) Through these activities, students were able to naturally acquire familiarity with AI and SW technologies by making and interacting with digital tools themselves.

Shim Chun-bo, Director of the SWCU Project Group, stated, “The instructors trained through the Software-Centered University Program are actively contributing to software education and value dissemination across Jeollanam-do. This concert exemplifies how local students can immerse themselves in AI and SW environments through engaging, experience-based learning ecosystems.” He added, “We will continue expanding programs that strengthen the digital capabilities of our communities.”

Meanwhile, the Sunchon National University SWCU Project is supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), in cooperation with Jeollanam-do Province, Suncheon City, Gwangyang City, and Goheung County. The project operates a wide range of educational initiatives aimed at closing the digital divide and fostering SW talent in the region.
