장순성 대표 “지역사회와의 상생, 인재 육성 함께할 것”

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 서울볼트상사 장순성 대표가 개교 90주년을 맞아 대학발전기금 2천만 원을 기탁했다고 5월 28일 밝혔다. 이번 기탁은 지역 청년 인재 양성과 대학 발전을 응원하는 뜻에서 이루어졌다.

이날 총장실에서 열린 기탁식에는 이병운 총장을 비롯해 남기창 교학부총장, 정정조 학생처장, 장순성 대표가 참석해 지역 사회와 대학의 상생 협력에 대해 환담을 나눴다.

서울볼트상사는 정밀성과 품질이 요구되는 산업 분야에 맞춤형 자재를 공급하는 건설자재 도소매 기업으로, 오랜 기술력과 신뢰를 바탕으로 성장해왔다. 특히 순천 지역을 기반으로 청년 고용 창출과 기술 인재 육성에 힘쓰며, 지역 산업의 든든한 버팀목 역할을 하고 있다.

장순성 대표는“국립순천대는 지역사회를 이끌어갈 인재를 양성하는 중요한 교육기관”이라며, “기업의 성장과 지역의 발전은 서로 밀접하게 연결되어 앞으로도 동반성장을 위해 힘을 보태겠다.”고 전했다.

이에 이병운 총장은 "기부를 넘어 진심 어린 동행의 뜻을 담아주신 장순성 대표님께 깊이 감사드린다.”며, "우리 대학이 지역을 넘어 글로벌 대학으로 도약할 수 있도록 보내주신 응원에 보답하겠다.”고 화답했다.

한편, 장순성 대표는 순천중·고 총동창회 장학회 이사로 활동하며, 지역 청소년 및 대학생을 위한 장학사업, 취업 지원 등 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 꾸준히 이어오고 있다. 또한, 지역 내 교육문화 인프라 확대, 취약계층 후견 등의 활동도 함께하며, ‘지역 기반 상생 기업’의 모범적인 역할을 하고 있다.

Sunchon National University Receives 20 Million KRW Development Fund Donation from CEO Jang Soon-sung of Seoul Bolt Corporation

- In celebration of the university’s 90th anniversary, donation aims to support regional talent development and university advancement

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced on May 28 that Mr. Jang Soon-sung, CEO of Seoul Bolt Corporation, has donated 20 million KRW to the university’s development fund in celebration of its 90th anniversary. The donation was made in support of nurturing young talent in the region and advancing the university’s future.

A donation ceremony was held at the President’s Office, attended by President Lee Byung-woon, Executive Vice President Nam Ki-chang, Dean of Student Affairs Chung Jung-jo, and CEO Jang Soon-sung. The participants exchanged views on cooperation and mutual growth between the university and the local community.

Seoul Bolt Corporation is a wholesaler and distributor of precision construction materials, supplying tailored components to industries where quality and accuracy are paramount. Built on decades of expertise and trust, the company has grown steadily while playing a key role in the local economy by fostering youth employment and cultivating skilled professionals in the Suncheon region.

“SCNU is a vital educational institution that cultivates talent to lead the region,” said CEO Jang. “Corporate growth and regional development are deeply interconnected, and I will continue to contribute toward our shared prosperity.”

President Lee responded, “We are deeply grateful to CEO Jang for this donation, which reflects not just generosity but a sincere commitment to walking alongside us. We will do our utmost to ensure SCNU grows into a globally competitive university rooted in its community.”

CEO Jang is also an active board member of the Sunchon Middle and High School Alumni Association Scholarship Foundation. He has consistently supported scholarship programs and employment assistance for local youth and college students. His community involvement also includes expanding educational and cultural infrastructure and supporting vulnerable populations, setting an exemplary model as a regionally rooted, socially responsible business leader.
