- 신규 위원 14명 위촉 … “지역과 함께 성장하는 대학 비전 함께 실현”

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 5월 26일(월) 교내 70주년기념관 초석홀에서 ‘제3기 국립순천대학교 발전후원회 신규위원 위촉 및 간담회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 이병운 총장, 문승태 대외협력부총장을 비롯해 대학 주요 보직자, 강문식 발전후원회 위원장과 임원진, 그리고 신규 위촉 위원 등 50여 명이 참석한 가운데, 14명의 신규 위원에게 위촉장이 수여됐다. 이어진 간담회에서는 위원 간의 환영 인사와 상호 교류가 이루어졌다.

국립순천대학교 발전후원회는 대학의 중장기 발전을 위해 다양한 분야의 지역 인사들이 참여하는 민·관 협력 기구로, 대학발전기금 조성과 지역사회 연계 사업 추진 등에서 중추적인 역할을 담당하고 있다.

새롭게 위촉된 위원들은 지역 산업계, 의료계, 시민단체 등에서 활발히 활동 중인 인사들로 구성됐으며, 이번 위촉을 통해 전체 위원 수는 기존 26명에서 총 40명으로 늘었다. 국립순천대는 지역 협력의 외연이 커짐에 따라, 오는 2026년까지 위원 수를 50명으로 확대할 계획이다.

국립순천대학교 이병운 총장은 “오늘 위촉되신 위원님들의 전문성과 열정이 대학의 지속적인 발전에 든든한 동력이 될 것으로 기대한다”라며, “앞으로도 지역과 함께 성장하는 대학의 비전을 실현하는 여정에 함께해 주시길 바란다”라고 말했다.

강문식 발전후원회 위원장은 “위원장으로서 지역사회 각계각층에서 활약 중이신 위원님들의 참여가 큰 힘이 된다”라며, “발전후원회 활동을 통해 대학과 지역이 함께 성장할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”라고 밝혔다.

국립순천대학교는 앞으로도 지역사회와의 유기적인 협력을 바탕으로, 지속 가능한 대학 발전과 인재 양성을 위한 다양한 사업과 프로그램을 추진할 계획이다.

SCNU Holds Appointment Ceremony for New Members of the 3rd University Advancement Council

Sunchon National University (SCNU, President Lee Byung-woon) announced that it held the “Appointment Ceremony and Networking Meeting for New Members of the 3rd SCNU Advancement Council” on Monday, May 26, at Choseok Hall in the 70th Anniversary Memorial Building.

The event was attended by President Lee Byung-woon, Vice President for External Affairs Moon Seung-tae, major university administrators, Kang Moon-sik, Chair of the Advancement Council, council executives, and over 50 participants including newly appointed members. Appointment letters were awarded to 14 new council members, followed by a networking session to promote introductions and mutual exchange.

The SCNU Advancement Council is a public-private cooperative body composed of regional leaders from various sectors, established to support the university’s mid- to long-term development. It plays a central role in fundraising for university advancement and promoting university-community engagement projects.

The newly appointed members are active professionals from the industrial, medical, and civic sectors of the region. With these additions, the council now comprises 40 members, up from the previous 26. SCNU plans to expand the council to 50 members by 2026 in line with its strategy to broaden regional cooperation.

President Lee stated, “The expertise and passion of the newly appointed members will serve as a strong driving force for the continued growth of our university,” adding, “We look forward to working together in realizing SCNU’s vision of growth in partnership with the local community.”

Chair Kang Moon-sik remarked, “As Chair, I am greatly encouraged by the participation of members who represent a wide range of fields within the region,” and added, “Through our work in the Advancement Council, we will do our utmost to ensure that both the university and the community grow together.”

SCNU will continue to promote diverse initiatives and programs that contribute to sustainable university development and talent cultivation through strong cooperation with the local community.
