Sunchon National University Staff Donate Development Fund to Celebrate 90th Anniversary

In celebration of its 90th anniversary, the staff of Sunchon National University (President: Lee Byung-woon) collectively donated KRW 104.24 million to support the university’s sustainable development and future talent cultivation. This contribution reflects the staff’s pride in the university’s legacy and their heartfelt support for future generations.

The donation ceremony, held on April 7 at the President’s Office, was attended by President Lee, Vice President for External Cooperation Moon Seung-tae, General Affairs Director Heo Jae-seon, Staff Union Chair Seo Han-geul, and other university representatives.

Chair Seo stated, “We are proud to take part in supporting the university’s continued growth as members who have walked alongside its 90-year journey. We remain united in our commitment to SNU’s future.” President Lee expressed gratitude, saying, “The university’s 90-year history has always been shaped by the silent dedication of our staff. Their sincere generosity and devotion will serve as a vital foundation as we build the next 100 years as a glocal university connecting the local and the global.” 

Staff members who donated over KRW 900,000 will also be enrolled in the university’s “Wooseok Hall Seat Donation Campaign,” a participatory fundraising initiative that engraves donor names or messages on seats at the university’s largest lecture hall.

Open to all- including local residents, alumni, and businesses?the campaign encourages commemorative donations in KRW 900,000 units. Donors may contribute up to KRW 2.7 million and personalize seat plaques with names or hopeful messages. Inquiries can be made to the SNU Development Foundation (Tel: +82-61-750-6221~2). 

As a university that has grown alongside its region since 1935, Sunchon National University plans to further expand community-driven initiatives for a shared “next 100 years,” built on the spirit of gratitude and collaboration.
