The objective of the College of Education is to develop competent secondary school teachers who can contribute to development of the democratic society with integrated thinking abilities based on theories of each major and practical teaching skills as well as a strong sense of duty.
With the systematic education systems, the College has ensured a high success rate for the teacher qualification examination and contributed to diverse national education areas.

About the Department

The root of chemistry is often said to be the ancient alchemy. It was accepted as part of the academic systems in the mid-18th century and, in the 20th century, is supporting various industries such as energy, new materials, medicine and medical supplies, semiconductors, automobiles, machinery, aviation, and aerospace, deeply affecting every aspect of our lives. The Department aims at development of human resources that can meet the needs of today’s society and also lead education of chemical science.

Considering the objective of the Department explained above, the majors need to be keenly interested in natural phenomena, have positive attitudes of learning the basic knowledge of the study with original and logical ways of thinking, and the capability of helping young ones to develop outstanding scientific literacy with a strong sense of duty.

Basically, the graduates become a school teacher for chemistry but they may choose to enter into other professions such as a scholar or expert in educational policies by going to a graduate school to explore further this field of study. They may also want to become a civil servant or work for an enterprise related to the major. In line with this, the Department is endeavoring to assist the students in making a success in whatever career they may choose.
